First thing is first. Copy the below form when getting your weapon made. Then begin to fill in the blanks with the following information to get the weapon that you want. Be sure to give it a nifty name and tell us the specific type of weapon it is.
Spoiler: click to toggle *S to W means Strength to Weight ratio. For every X Strength add Y to the weight. X:Y. So if it is a 5:1 then every 5 Strength or Durability it add 1 to Weight. If it is 2:1 then every 2 Strength or Durability it has, add 1 to weight. Material Durability cannot ever be increased past 50% (Unless it's because of it's Material Damage Type: Magus Defense, etc). *Max means the maximum amount of base Strength or Durability that particular Material can have. *Materia is what Materia slots that Material can utilize. Just because it shows a link does not mean it has to have one. You can have a Diamond Weapon with five unlinked slots. *Put a % sign next to Durability as it reduces damage by that much of a percent. Put Physical damage it blocks as a regular number. Put magic damage it blocks next to that number in "()". If it's the same, then put the number there regularly. Prices
Damage
The above weapon would cost: 980 Gil. Note that the original Strength was 18 and the original Durability was 16%. But the Berserk Offense of Granite caused the Strength to increase, but the Durability to decrease. Now, if a weapon's Durability is to only decrease or increase when magic it defends against magic, put the durability in "()" next to the original durability. EX: Durability: 10 (5). The 10 would represent the Physical damage and the 5 would represent the Magical. Other Details Your Strength represents how much weight you can carry. Every item will have a weight. All Materia have a weight of 1, so there is no need to list it on there. If the amount of weight you have on you exceeds your Strength, you can't move. When you are attacking with something with a weight, your speed is reduced by that weight. So if you are using the above weapon with two Materia in it, it would have a weight of 8. Since it is a Two handed weapon, the weight would be cut down when you use it. So it would be 3. This way we don't have to make a pesky chart on anything (Maybe Material Details) and people can get their weapons to be truly customizable. Starting Weapon and Armor Your starting weapon can have a value of up to 1,000 Gil. Your starting armor can have up to a value of 250 Gil. If you do not want the weapon or armor you may accept half the Gil instead. You may split the funds in half and add that to your Gil. You may split the funds for a starting weapon and start with two. Note: Weapons that are two in one like a Gunblade would require two weapon skills to utilize. Note: When dealing with halves... round up. Note: When using a Projectile Weapon you may use some of your funds to buy Ammo. You may just have the Weapon and no Ammo... but your use with it would be limited. Armor Slots You can only have three pieces of armor on at any time (Minus some Cyborgs who have their armor parts taken up by Upgrades). Armor is very useful as it reduces damage by a percentage. The higher the percentage, the more damage it reduces. Weapons can block by that same percent as well if you choose to block as well. The percent it can block is listed by "Durability." It should differ for every single weapon. Now, as stated before you can have three pieces of armor. Weapon you can have as many as you please so long as you can carry it all. Do note that gauntlets count as BOTH armor and weapons. When making armor, there are two ways to make it. A full body suit or in pieces. Full body suits would cover the entire body (Minus the head or arms if you designed it that way). When this is done, your percentage that blocks damage is divided amongst all the body parts it covers. Say you have an armor bodysuit that covers the Body, the Right Leg, Left Leg, Right Arm and Left Arm; and this armor blocks 40% both Magic and Physical. That 40% would be divided by 5, only blocking 8%. Now, if you made a piece of armor that only covers one of the following parts:
Then it will block the full percentage of it's durability. Do note that armor will only block damage if the attack hits where the armor is located. You may stack armor on top of other pieces of armor, but just know that you only have three slots for armor. |
