Throughout the world of Final Fantasy VII many have come across unique conditions that alter or hinder the functionality of your body. Some are minor while some are quite the hindrance on your journey. Below are some of the most common Status Alignments and how long they would last before they faded away. Note: Status Ailments last five posts unless stated otherwise in the description on this list, in the Materia, technique, limit break or ability. Poison When poisoned, your HP is reduced every post by 5% from it's maximum. This means if your HP has a max of 100 and you're poisoned it will lower by 5 every post. Poison lasts for ten posts before it's effects fade away. If a Materia or Limit Break says the poison status alignment does something different, go by the Materia or Limit Break. ALWAYS go by the Limit Break, Materia or Ability over the rule here. This is just if it didn't state and said "Poison Status Alignment" Silence Silence is a real kicker. It mutes the voice and makes it so the one with the Status Alignment cannot cast spells or use MP of any kind. This lasts for about five posts before it fades. Blind Blind alters the users ability to see by making it so they can't at all. There is a dark cloud that usually floats in front of the users eyes. This cloud lasts for about five posts and makes it so you are nearly unable to hit anything with any melee attack. This usually lowers your accuracy by half but may be lesser depending on the details of the Materia. Stone Stone is a much more rare and unique Status alignment. It involves your body turning to stone and being unable to function. Your body becomes unbreakable for a short period of time in this state (Unless your HP falls to zero). If your HP is at 0 though and you are hit while in this state.. your body shatters and you die, sadly. No Phoenix Down or Revive spell will cure that. This state would only last for three posts unless said otherwise. Confuse Confusion is a fun status alignment so long as you aren't the one confused. First off the second it hits you, your character would drop whatever weapon they are wielding and suddenly not be able to use any machinery or weapons. They just simply wouldn't know how. They'd also forget their name and who it is that is around them. This lasts for about two posts before it goes away. Berserk Berserk puts you in a fit of rage that makes you unable to use items, Materia or any special abilities that require focus. The only thing still available to you is normal attacks and Limit Breaks that deal with attacking. The downside to this is you will attack any and everything around you. Friend or Foe make no difference. The second they are in your sight, the second you attack them. You become ADD and angry at everything in this state. This state will last for three posts unless said otherwise. Paralyze/Stun Stun puts you in a state that doesn't allow you to use items. It also cuts your Dodge and Accuracy total in half. Lasts for three posts unless said otherwise. Stop Stop entirely stops your movement. You can do nothing. It lasts like this for a single post unless said otherwise. Can be cured with Haste. If in Haste state, Stop will only negate Haste and cause Slow. Sleep Puts you to sleep for one post unless said otherwise. You are woken up if harmed or if someone tries to wake you up. Curse Curses the body so that healing spells and potions cause damage instead of help. It also causes one to take 2x to the Holy element but cut Dark element in half when taking damage from it. Mini/Toad Mini simply brings their melee damage to 1 regardless of their strength stat. Toad makes them incapable of using weapons, materia or items. Both make them about the size of a frog, only one makes them look like one. Both spells look like a purple beam of spiraling energy. Edited by Cloud, Nov 19 2009, 01:16 AM.

Elements are like a coin. They all have an opposing side that greatly effects the other. When one is prone for Fire, they are typically very weak against Ice. Same with one being prone for Water they are very much prone to Thunder/Lightning. All of the Elements shall be listed below:
The Weakness of each Element shall also be listed below:
This is not set in stone each time. But most the time (Especially when making monsters) this is the system to follow. |
