Year 1990 AVALANCHE was formed by an unknown man who did research in Cosmo Canyon. His research lead him to believe that Mako reactors are deadly to the planet and cause far too much harm. He was not known to be much of a terrorist but was the man who found the group of terrorists which is thought to be taken out by the Turks. Sometime after AVALANCHE's creation, a girl named Felicia who had lost her memories came to Cosmo Canyon. It is not stated how, but she eventually became the organization's leader and took on the name "Elfé". She worked with a cold scientist named Fuhito, whose plans were far more than a simple revolution of Shinra. At some point, Elfé and Fuhito meet a bandit leader named Sears, who has his own reasons to hate Shinra. Together these three work together to destroy Shinra with an army of insurgents. This group of AVALANCHE fights against the Turks, a Shinra black-ops group. AVALANCHE and the Turks fight across the Planet, but most of their battles end in draws. Shinra finally corners AVALANCHE in Wutai, but the organization is able to hide itself by pretending to be defeated with it's leaders killed. They reappear in Corel, and cause the town to be destroyed by Shinra. During the fighting, Rufus is captured. During this time, Elfé slowly begins to lose her strength from an ancient Summon Materia called Zirconiade inside her. Sears leaves the organization to work with the Turk leader, Verdot, actually Elfé's father. The Turks defect with their leader to find four Materia that can help defeat Zirconiade. Posted Image AVALANCHE Unit While Sears is gone and Elfé is too weak to lead, Fuhito becomes the true leader of AVALANCHE. During his command, the group breaks down. AVALANCHE soldiers act as little more than zombies of Fuhito's will. Several people simply leave, disgusted by how the group has changed. One of these is Shalua Rui, who sustains great injuries during her escape. In the end, Fuhito summons Zirconiade but it is defeated. He is killed in the battle. Elfé leaves with her father to escape Shinra. What remains of this AVALANCHE group is either defeated or falls apart. It was believed that Rufus was feeding this group information on Shin-Ra as well as giving them supplies. But all records of this information have been wiped out. |

Elfé/Felicia Posted Image Elfé was born "Felicia" (フェリシア, Ferishia), the daughter of the Turk leader Verdot. However, one day their town of Kalm was burned down, and Elfé was seperated from her parents. It is unknown how, but somehow she made her way to Cosmo Canyon, where she was raised by AVALANCHE. After the death of it's first leader, Elfé became the organization's head. At some point, Elfé has a special Materia grafted onto the back of her hand, giving her shielding abilities. Beneath her was Fuhito, a fanatic scientist, and Sears, a former bandit who respected and had feelings for Elfé. With funding and intelligence from Rufus Shinra, Elfé decided to lead AVALANCHE to destroy Shinra. Felicia is found to be getting gradually weaker despite her superhuman strength, both of which came as a result of the presence of the mysterious Materia — called "Zirconiade" — within her body and Fuhito's ambitions. As Elfé grows weaker, Fuhito takes more and more control over the running of AVALANCHE. Because Fuhito refuses to do anything to help Elfé, Sears leaves AVALANCHE, and works with the Turks. Verdot, after learning that Elfé is his daughter, leaves Shinra with the player Turks and Tseng. Together they try to find the four support Materias for Zirconiade, so that they can weaken Zirconiade and save Elfé. This summon beast is drawn from her when Fuhito summons Zirconiade in an incomplete form. The report states that Tseng killed both Felecia and her father. Details on it are unknown. Although the document is lacking in detail, it shows that at some point Sephiroth was sent to take Felicia out, but even with all his power he can only end the fight in a draw. |

Fuhito Posted Image He is the intellectual force behind AVALANCHE, Fuhito excels in creating battle plans. Highly knowledgeable in not just matters of science, but also in terms of tactical warfare, he is helpful with conceiving tactical solutions and providing support from a strategic vantage. Fuhito is highly polite and calm to both his allies and enemies. However, he is very treacherous, and cold to all those around him, viewing them as tools not as equals. His hero is mad scientist Professor Hojo, as the both share a similarly deranged view of science. He is also shown to have no patience with Sears. Fuhito fights with a modified Gun that shoots out a high-powered blast of energy. Fuhito's plans take preservation of nature to the extreme. He believes that all people should be returned to the Planet in order to stop the harming of the Planet and let it heal - in short he wants to kill all people. To achieve his end of genocide, he is willing to do anything and everything. To this end, he uses Elfé in a plot to summon a creature called "Zirconiade". His coldness towards Elfé's deteriorating condition causes Sears to leave AVALANCHE. Fuhito captures a disc containing data on SOLDIER, and with it creates a personal attack squad of semi-human monsters called the Ravens. So proud of these creations is he, that Fuhito orchastrates an AVALANCHE attack on Shinra Headquarters so that he can meet Professor Hojo and show off his scientific genius. Posted Image Once gaining the Zirconiade Materia, Fuhito activates it and his body mutates becomes one with the powers of Zirconiade. Due to this and the immence powers radiating from the Materia, Fuhito with the infinite knowledge held within it, loses most of his sanity, but is able to keep only some of it when he battles the Turks. After his defeat, Zirconiade would be fully released, and Fuhito is killed. His plans fail once the Turks destroy Zirconiade. It is rumored that a small group of people have formed up following up the plans Fuhito left behind. |

Sears Posted Image He is a powerful field leader of AVALANCHE and second strongest member of the organization in physical terms (second only to Elfé), he had excellent hand-to-hand combat skills and often took charge of executing operations and formulating battle strategies. Strength-wise, Sears can easily defeat Reno and Rude alone, but cannot defeat them when they work together. His language is very course and vulgar, often using curse words. Sears's parents were killed by Shinra, and so he dedicated himself to destroying them. He became the leader of an army of one-hundred bandits. One day, Elfé and Fuhito were walking down the road, when they were confronted by Sears and his army. Elfé managed to easily defeat them, and gave Sears the opportunity to join in AVALANCHE. He accepted. Sears became completely devoted to Elfé, though he and Fuhito were decidedly not fond of one another. Despite their differences, the three worked together to destroy Shinra, attacking in numerous places and wrecking havoc across the Planet. However, Elfé slowly became weaker due to the Zirconiade Materia embedded in her hand. Fuhito did not seem to care, so Sears left AVALANCHE to try to save Elfé with the Turks, lead by Elfé's father Verdot. Together they try to find the four support Materias for Elfé's Zirconiade Materia so as to save her and the world from Fuhito's insane plans. He eventually sacrifices himself to save Elfé, and seems to be dead. |

Verdot (Veld) Posted Image His official Shinra title is "Head of the Department of Administrative Research." He is very particular on matters relating to succeeding in missions and very unforgiving when it comes to failure. Though many of his subordinates are intimidated by his severity, they all deeply respect him. After a disaster in Kalm caused by his own commands, Verdot's family was killed and he lost his arm. He replaced it with a prosthetic with a Materia inside it, so that he could continue to fight alongside his Turks. Verdot is the original leader of the Turks during their battle with AVALANCHE. Though he leads them with competence and forsieght, AVALANCHE manages to get away due to their special intelligence from a traitor inside Shinra. President Shinra suspects Verdot, and replaces him with Heidegger for an operation in Junon. But Heidegger almost destroys the entire city, so Verdot takes back command of his Turks by blackmailing President Shinra. What he uses to blackmail the President is unknown, but it is thought to be about Deepground. When Verdot learns that the AVALANCHE commander, Elfé is in actuality his daughter Felicia, he defects from Shinra. The Turks are ordered to capture him, but they instead join with him to find the Support Materia for Zirconiade and save Elfé. He is captured by Scarlet in the Corel Prison, but is later rescued. After Zirconiade is defeated, his second-in-command Tseng reports that Verdot and Elfé are dead. Tseng takes control of the Turks. Edited by Cloud, Apr 1 2009, 09:37 AM.

Ravens The Ravens (レイブン, Reibun) are a squad of AVALANCHE members who have undergone genetic modification by Fuhito to serve as his personal attack squad. Though they have developed increased combat capabilities, as well as the ability to completely recover from normally fatal wounds, they have lost their humanity. Despite their formidable regenerative capabilities, they can be killed when properly wounded. SOLDIERs Essai and Sebastian were forcably put through the same modification.
