A father's love for his daughter should not be questioned....

His eyes slowly fluttered up and quickly darted to the small being before him. Even though she had a large pair of headphones on her head that didn't stop her from puffing up her cheeks in a wide grin. He returned gesture with his own smile and a slight chuckle. Something about her seemed to remind him of a better life. It probably was because he could see her future. Korii's financial support would be the means for her education, but of course, she'd be too smart and probably get a full scholarship to anywhere she wanted. Ah...a father's dream... His brown hand reached up to adjust his own headphones.

"Sir, we're touching down in two minutes." Came a voice over the headset.

Korii nodded as reality set in. Although it was suppose to be a day at beach, Korii had been asked to head off the coast to a small Shinra digging facility and bring back a "special" core sample they took. The task itself was nothing more than a babysitting mission and of such a low difficulty he was allowed to bring his daughter with him. They had been nice enough to allow him the whole day to spend at the site. He would be charged with giving the facility a examination and reporting it back home. Such a task was odd to him because SOLDIER didn't seem like the type to have its agents do such simple jobs.

Not to mention that according to his short briefing, he would have a team of Sentry under his command just for this task. A squad of "gunnies" for a escort mission of a bottle of dirt...Shinra is odd. Not to mention they don't mind my daughter coming... He shook off the thought of all the oddities before acknowledging the pilot of the helicopter with a smile. No more than fifteen hours ago, Korii had been strapped to a white bed in a examination room receiving the "Shinra cocktail." The injection consisted of Jenova and Mako cells. Apparently they would make him superhuman.

"Jasmine, honey?" Korii cooed over his microphone. The girl's face brightened up as his words echoed through her ears. Turning to her father she started to talk, but Korii heard static and the roaring propeller. He smirked as he reached forward and pulled her microphone down.

"I want you to stay here okay? Daddy'll be back."

It was barely seconds before he felt the Shinra transport hit the deck. He quickly unharnessed himself, rushed out of the chopper, his darting movement done while in a crouched stance. Cause there is nothing like getting your head sliced by a blade spinning at like two hundred miles per hour... He kept his sarcasm to himself. The deck was nothing more than a steel platform with a bunch of canisters and boxes sitting off to the side of the helipad. The entrance to the lower structure was a small room that Korii walked into with a quick stride. Three men, their faces wrapped in balaclavas and goggles.

"Sir!" They said as they snapped to attention. Their guns where holstered and slung across their backs still clanged. It was evident that they were a new bunch, straight from out the academy. Just like me.... But he could fake it for this mission, it wasn't like he needed combat experience. With his limited knowledge of martial arts, cold stare, blade of black steel, and superhuman abilities, he could at least scare the Sentries to obey him without thought.

A simple nod is all Korii returned the words with. "Fall in, boys." He murmured. They snapped into the elevator before Korii almost glided in. They stood with their hands behind them, echoing Korii's posture perfectly. The doors closed and they plunged south. Korii smirked as his ears popped from the sudden pressure. It felt like seconds had passed before the doors opened but it had in fact been several minutes. The movement of the elevator must have made them lightheaded long enough to distort their perception of time. When the doors opened, Korii was staring at a man dressed in a white coat. Even Shinra scientist are dressed stereotypically. Korii and his entourage looked almost sinister which made the small man before the group back up slightly.

"Um...welcome...um...sir...agents..." He stammered, his eyes darting quickly from behind thick glasses. His hair was a mess of grease and follicles, probably because he spent all day in the lab.

"We're here for the sample." Korii said. His voice was cold and calculated. Sinister. He moved forward, his team of Sentry behind him. His left hand never came off his katana's hilt. His right still behind him, never moving. He heard one of the Sentry behind him murmur something about being a Sephiroth wannabe. It was somewhat true that he too held himself that way. Shaking off the thought, he moved his hands to his sides. The scientist started to walk forward, the Shinra military agents keeping up a swift stride behind. "So...tell me about this sample?" Korii asked, his voice somewhat timid. Curiosity was eating away at him.

"Well SOLDIER, I'm not suppose to divulge information but since you are risking your neck and I'm generous...." He said almost sneering, "In this core sample we've found crystal formations of Mako, it's heavily concentrated. Which is unlike anything we've seen before. We're speculating it is because of the extremely low temperatures and high pressure, but we can't replicate it."

"Interesting." Korii muttered. He had the common sense to know what he was talking about but his interest was elsewhere. His daughter was still upstairs in the helicopter waiting on him to finish with the mission and go to the beach. His duty was to bring the sample from the mining facility to the testing facility a mile inland. From there he'd go on that date. He smiled to himself as they reached a large central room. In the center sat several cylinders stamped with the Shinra logo and straps.

"And here we are..." The scientist said, pointing to the samples resting on the table.

Korii nodded and pointed, "Grab'em."

The Sentries didn't hesitate and moved forward, retrieving them and strapping them all to their bodies. Korii turned around and started back. The agents started to follow, but Korii's heart dropped when he heard the sudden sounds that erupted behind him. It was the warrior's symphony, percussion to be more precise. Korii turned to see that his men had opened fire shredding the scientist and all the nearby men under his command. He had forgotten that small detail. The superior's voice echoing in his ear.

Korii, your job is to dismantle the facility once you receive the samples. We don't want these scientists and their curiosity going to the papers.

Korii smirked as one of the retreating scientist crossed his path. A sudden jerk was all that was necessary, the velocity of his fist moving across the skinny man's jaw sent him into the realm of unconsciousness. They were an assassination squad, Shinra's violent right hand. Another scientist decided to make a run for the elevator but was cut down by a barrage of bullets. Korii watched the massacre, occasionally taking part to throw a punch, kick, or elbow to knock a straggling scientist to his knees. The Sentry team was precise and to the point. Blood soaked the metal floors while bullet holes covered the walls. Korii figured that their mission was Shinra's idea of cutting cost. It was probably cheaper to kill off one digging facility then to upgrade it with new security and such that would draw the attention of the government or the terrorist groups.

As the fog of war settled, Korii waved two fingers at the glass windows. "Demo."

The Sentry agents moved forward and started attaching their explosives to the windows as well as the machinery. Korii walked towards the elevator as one of the Sentry agents turned to him. "What are you doing boss?" Korii turned, his cloak still covering his body. "Going upstairs. Follow your orders, finish the mission. Give me your samples." The Sentries pulled their cylinders off and tossed them across the ground. Korii quickly gathered the canisters and entered the elevator. Within moments after the door shut, Korii pulled out a small device from his pocket. He smirked as he revealed his other hand. A block of plastic explosive and the ignition key. Combining the two, Korii reached out and pulled the emergency stop on the control panel. Looking up, he attached the explosive to the ceiling just between the light and the grating that he would open to make his escape.

The means should always justify the ends....

Korii smirked as he reached up and grabbed for the ceiling panel. It easily came dislodged and fell to the ground. A slight hop on his part sent him through the hole and onto the top of the elevator. He could see the transport had made it over halfway up the shaft. A few quick side-to-side jumps left him balancing on the edge of the elevator door at the top level. Grasping his katana, Korii slid it between the doors and pried the metal apart. He smiled as daylight pierced the dark, narrow shaft. Moving his hand to aid in the opening of the door. Once it was finally open, a quick flick of the wrist caused the katana to meet with the thin fibers of the cables connecting the elevator to the base. Such a blow would cause the cables to snap and the elevator itself would drop.

The transport would drop quickly, but Korii would not watch, the helicopter was awaiting his arrival. He sheathed the blade and pulled out the detonator switch. Korii, your detonator is the only one that works for all the explosives. He smirked as he again remembered the words of his handler. Crouching, Korii rushed into the helicopter and strapped himself down. It was not long before they were airborne and he had pulled the trigger. The oil rig slowly slipping into the murky depths as the samples, his daughter, and himself disappeared into the sun. Now they would head inland, towards the new research lab.

Peering up from his daydream, Korii stared at his daughter. She was sleeping, an odd status considering their surroundings. Her hair was long, and oddly dark brown. It was ironic since both of her parents had black hair, and their parents were of likewise features. The child's face was plump, a sign of being well-nourished before, during, and after her birth. Korii was rather proud that her mother was mature enough to not take revenge through his daughter for the sins he had committed during and after their own relationship. He could see the copilot turn his head back to Korii, probably to see if he was wearing his headphones already. Seeing this, Korii pulled them over his ears and pointed at his daughter.

"When she go down?" He questioned.

"Five minutes after you left, sir. We'll be on site in twenty minutes. You can relax, we got it from here."

Korii smiled, "Okay fly boys, I leave it to you then."

No matter how wary they become, there is no sleep for the wicked...

He wanted to close his eyes, he really did, but the ever-present noise of the helicopter's spinning blades would not let him. He would have to sit there, watching his future. The irony of the situation was simple enough. His daughter, innocent and pure, could find sleep, but not him. He fell back, trying to relax, but that was when he heard a voice, almost sinister in his ear. It was a whisper that send a shiver down his spine as if a piece of ice had followed his back down. What it said made no sense to him, but just listening to it made the SOLDIER's eyes fly wide with surprise. In the excitement, Korii clenched his knees so hard that his nail dug through his pants and into his flesh.

Rejoice in the reunion with JENOVA.

"Did any of you hear that?" Korii said into his headphones. But pilots only looked back at him as if he was crazy.

"Uh...no. Can't hear shit with these headphones." They chuckled.

Sliding backwards, Korii sighed. Must be the adrenaline...goddamn it. I'm hallucinating.... He ran his hand over his face. He could feel the leather from the dark black gloves he was wearing. It was cold. Just as cold as your heart is for killing those innocent Sentry agents. He smirked as he realized that his conscious mind argued the morality issues. On one hand, he had just invited his daughter on an assassination mission. Two, he had just killed his own squad mates in cold blood. While he should be upset, Korii realized that he had no one to blame but himself.

-30 Minutes Later-

Korii stepped out the research facility, the mission complete and his daughter at his side. To be more precise, he was carrying her on his back. A smile on her face. Now would be the time for their date.
