Six hundred years ago, a group of Keyblade Masters left Midgar in search of exploring. Most of them were warriors in search of adventure that they could not find on the peaceful city of Midgar. For ten years they toured space battling warriors of other races and getting stronger. After a while they began to reproduce and teach their young the art of the Keyblade warrior, taking techniques they learned from around the universe. When the population on the ship began to be too much they landed on an isolated island with a conditioning that was intense and provided perfect training. The violent storms ragged through and fired them up for their training. Eventually a colony formed and temples were built to continue the training. Every year during the big storm the Keyblade Monks would gather and hold a tournament on what they came to know as Garil Island. It was more of a giant rock only fitting a max of four fighters on there. That was the battle ground. It was a fight where many died either from the fight, or the severe current in the ocean. Only the best survived. Hatred is a painful emotion. I try not to hate because it hurts so much to hate. But I have no control over it. It consumes me and forces me to do the most evil things. But do they deserve it? Do the victims of my hate deserve the torment and torture I do to them when they anger me? I want to think not, but I do not know. I try not to think about it. Rain poured heavily on the court yard. It was supposed to be sparring today, but it was cancelled. Novice Monks were kept out of the weather till they proved themselves. Sitting alone at the doorway he sat there, thinking to himself. Riku was a Keyblade user of eighteen years of age. For a year he had been training at the temple. He was the weakest of them and was teased often for it. He tried to ignore it, knowing, or at least hoping he would bloom to be the greatest warrior on Garish. Garish was the greatest warrior when they colonized the island. And when he died, they honored him by calling the area Garish. Riku felt honored to be going to the temple he founded. It was by far one of the more prestigious schools and taught a softer style of the Keyblade style. The techniques themselves weren’t hard for him to grasp. He got those pretty quickly. It was the strength and speed he lacked. The other kids were twice as fast as he was, and twice as strong. He didn’t understand it. He trained countless hours, and end up being forced by the Elder to go rest. For hours upon hours he trained his body to become stronger and faster. Through meditation he kept himself calm and focused. But in the end he couldn’t do it. The masters had talked to him about it as they found it troubling as well, but Elder Malith assured him it was a sign that he would one day bloom into the greatest warrior that ever lived. Maybe even greater than Garish. Standing up he decided it was time to quit being lazy and train. Going to the meal room where no one was around, he started to practice. Bringing one foot forward and pointing it straight, he shifted his other foot so it was facing outward to the left. He brought up his right hand, palm up and his left hand at chest level, palm facing forward. Lowering his stance he began to shift. His movements were slow and very fluid as he shifted around doing the Fral Ma thal form. Or rather the Form of Blooming Blossoms. It was a form that focused on simple strikes and counters. It was the most basic of the forms and required little effort. In the first week he had the form down and was working to perfecting it. Though the Masters always said it could not improve, he disagreed. A noise from the doorway made him lose his concentration. Looking over he saw Kairi standing there smiling. He was the worst of them all. He had talent of speed and strength and was the ring leader in humiliating Riku. Standing straight up Riku spoke first. “Need something?” Kairi stepped in, “No, I was just admiring how pretty your form was.” Riku knew he was mocking him but kept his focus. “That form is so stupid, I don’t know why they teach it.” In a disgusted tone Riku sarcastically replied, “The only ones who think it’s stupid are those who don’t know how to do it.” Kairi laughed, “My my Riku, is that supposed to be your way of fighting back?” Turning around so he didn’t have to look at Kairi, “Just go. You have no business with me. Just leave me alone please.” Kairi grin then shrugged. “So be it. I shouldn’t spend my time with a weakling like you anyway.” Gritting his teeth he lost his focus on what he was doing. Waiting till Kairi left he clenched his fists and under his breath he said, “Damn you. I refuse to be weaker than you.” Closing his eyes his body became relaxed. “Thanks a lot. It’s going to take some time to get back into focus.” The food smelled good as they brought out the grilled fish. Though Keyblade users never needed to eat meat, they found that the fish had a nutrient in the meat that helped them during training. It increased their endurance allowing them to train longer and harder. Riku watched as they brought his plate to him and set it down. Smiling he put his hands together and closed his eyes waiting for the master to give the go ahead. The room was silent as they fell into a meditative state. Then they opened their eyes as the master told them to begin eating. Looking down at his plate he saw the fish was gone. Kairi was across the way snickering with his friends. He knew he took his food, but what could he do? Grabbing his cup of water he lifted it and splashed it on the laughing Keyblade child. Kairi’s eyes grew large as anger reached its peak and he lunged at Riku sending a left hook to the child’s face. Sprawling back from the impact, he tried to get up but was held down by Kairi as he proceeded to pound on him. Then the weight was lifted off as the masters had pulled Kairi off of him. Coughing Riku rolled over spitting out blood while trying to hold back his tears. Riku tried to hold back his anger as to not force the masters into subduing him as well. He pounded his fist on the floor trying to release his anger in a controlled fashion. Everyone stood around and watched Kairi get taken away and the masters helping Riku up and walking him out. Riku looked over at a couple of kids who were staring and whispering. Anger exploded as his aura lashed out. Breaking free of the stunned masters he flew to the two and tackled one pounding his face over and over. The Elder stood from his position and jumped over to Riku yanking him off the now bloody boy. Fighting viciously he tried to break free of the Elder but was unable to. With a swift strike to the back of his head he fell unconscious. What happened? Who was that? Who hit that kid over and over? It looked like me, but how can I watch myself attack someone? I’m the weakest out of the children. I should have been killed by him. No that couldn’t have been me. It’s impossible. Light peaked though as Riku opened his eyes. The elder was there smiling. “Nice to see you finally waking up.” Sitting up he winced as his head pounded. Holding it he said, “What happened?” The old Keyblade closed his eyes and nodded. “Yes. You surprised us Riku. You were attacked by Kairi but before we could get you out of the room, you went off on Gerin.” Riku’s eyes widened. Gerin was one that was always nice to him. They weren’t friends but he had never done anything bad to him. “Is he ok?” The elder nodded. “He’ll be fine. He’s a tough lad. Though for the next week you will need to stay here.” Nodding, he understood. He had never attacked anyone. But maybe the dream was real. Maybe it really wasn’t him. “Elder?” Standing the elder looked at him. “Yes my child?” “I want to apologize to Gerin. But I don’t know if he hates me now.” Smiling and rubbing Riku’s head he replied. “No one can hate someone who is wise enough to apologize. I will bring him here.” Riku nodded and watched as the elder left. It was a strange feeling to apologize to someone for beating them up. He was usually the one getting apologized to. He didn’t know how to take it. The door creaked open as Gerin peaked through the door. “Is it safe?” Riku looked at him annoyed. “I’m not going to attack you.” The door fully opened and Gerin stood there with a bruised eye but he still had a smile. “Well good. No I actually came to…” “I’m sorry Garin. I’m sorry for attacking you.” Gerin’s eyes widened then he shook his head. “No no, I’m the one who should apologize. I wasn’t very nice back there, and you had every right to hit me.” Riku looked at him confused. “But I didn’t hear anything, I assumed you were talking about me.” Gerin nodded. “And you were right. I was. Not sure how you heard me, especially with how angry you were, but you had every right. I was mostly surprised by how hard you hit and how fast. Not even Kairi is that fast or strong.” Riku looked down at his bruised hands. “I don’t know. It didn’t feel like it was me doing it. But rather something else. Though I’m not sure what.” Gerin walked over and slapped Riku on the back. “Well don’t worry. You have it in you obviously. So when you are released I will teach you and help train you.” Riku smiled. Gerin was Kairi’s rival. The only one that had the power to stop Kairi. But also Gerin was two years older than Kairi making him the senior student. Riku smiled. “I look forward to it.” The rain pounded on the window. It had only been two days since the incident. The rain hadn’t cleared up, and it wouldn’t for the next few days. It was typical during the monsoon season. Outside he could see animals’ grazing like it was nothing. Birds flying through the air, it was a wonder and it helped Riku think about his training. Would Gerin teach him how to fly? Movement caught his eye and he watched as the elder flew to the center of the field. Animals moved away and watched as the elder stood there focusing. Soon he began to glow as his aura grew. Holding out his hands, the rain started to become displaced as an invisible energy sphere grew. Riku watched as the elder began to practice Fral Ma Thal with it. He watched the movements and then something him him. It wasn’t a form for hand to hand fighting. It was a form to teach how to capture and divert energy away. He was using his own energy to move the energy ball in various ways. It was as if it were some kind of magical manipulation. Feeling motivation now that he figured out what it was meant for, he stood up and went to the center of his room. He tried to form some kind of magical energy in his hands, but failed. If he did it right, a small orb of yellow energy would be formed in his hands. With a rush of adrenaline, Riku screamed. Slowly opening his eyes he saw Gerin standing by the door looking in. The elder was bent over him applying some ointment. Weakly he said, “I’m sorry master. I shouldn’t have attempted that.” The master smiled. “Do not worry, rest now. We talk later.”Closing his eyes, he felt fatigue wash over him as he fell asleep. Days passed and he was up and as good as new though he still felt terrible. He knew the other kids had talked about him and the two mistakes he had done. Walking quietly down the hall, he ignored the other children as they watched him. He was heading outside where he can train now that the rain had stopped. He was determined to master that form if it kills him. Running outside he ignored Gerin’s call to him. He reached the center of the field and closed his eyes. Gerin stood by and watched as Riku’s body began to glow. The glow got brighter as the seconds passed. Then with a violent explosion Gerin was knocked backwards landing hard on the ground. Sitting up on his elbows he watched as Riku’s aura raged violently. His eyes widened. “So much power. How can this be possible?” (FYI, that’s just MP going around Riku’s body. It has NO effect. Riku is learning how to use MP to increase attack damage) “He’s the same as Garish.” Garin looked up and saw the elder standing watching Riku. “A power sleeps within and only comes out when he is no longer conscious in his mind. He is meditating on his energy and it freed the locks unconsciously placed to prevent disaster.” Garin looked on, astonished at the power exhibiting from the boy that was known as the weakest. “What can we do?” The elder looked at him. “Not make him angry. No, but I will teach him to control his power. He’s already started the first step by allowing it to escape.” Riku opened his eyes and Garin’s body froze as he looked at Riku. Death, anger, and hate were the only things evident in his eyes. Love and compassion were no longer there. Chills ran up and down his spin as he looked on at a demon. No, something that would frighten even the gods. The being before him was not Riku. No, it was something that was pure evil. Riku’s eyes closed then the aura subsided as Riku opened his eyes revealing the young child that he was. Garin sat there frozen, unable to speak. Feeling a hand on his shoulder he looked up as the elder told him, “Do not worry. Nothing will happen.” Riku walked over and smiled. “Hey Garin. You come to train too?” Garin nodded.”Yeah I did. You ready?” The day went by. Garin was amazed at Riku’s drive to better himself and his techniques. Garin watched Riku perform techniques perfectly and accurately but he didn’t seem to have any power or speed behind them. He wondered if it had to do with his darker side. All in all Riku should have had the power behind every strike, but it wasn’t there and that worried him. Could I be increasing his darker half’s strength? That thought worried him but as the elder watched he did not stop him. Continuing on he showed Riku various exercises he could do to improve his power and speed. For hours that day they trained. Even without realizing it all three missed lunch and were going into the night. Stepping forward, Riku moved his left fist down then with his entire body sent a punch that stuck a post. The post didn’t even shudder. Breathing heavily he cursed himself. Hours spend and he couldn’t make the post shudder at all. Gerin yawned and walked up. “Riku, let’s call it a night. I’m hungry and tired. We can pick up on this tomorrow.” Sighing Riku nodded. He was hungry as well and hoped that food and a good night’s rest would help. Walking in, all three ate their dinner after everyone else had gone to bed. The meal was quiet as they all focused on the issues each one had to deal with. Riku struggled with the thought that he had everything perfect but yet couldn’t manage to do anything. The power was lacking and it annoyed him. Lying in bed he went over everything, what he could do to improve, increase his power, and increase his speed. I’m watching myself. Wait, no that isn’t me. He’s just standing there, glaring at me with eyes so evil I can feel it piercing my soul. Why is he looking at me like that? What are his intentions? Am I going to die? Someone help me! Help me please! Riku walked through the foggy field. Ahead he saw a figure. It was crouched over, doing something on the ground, though he couldn’t tell what. As he got closer, a foul stench filled his nose and a sound of something breaking could be heard. The fog pulled away and he saw a Keyblade there feeding on something. Walking closer fear gripped him. The Keyblade turned and his eyes widened as he looked at him. He looked just like him. Looking at the ground he began to tear up. It was Garin. His stomach had been ripped open as he was eating him. His stomach turned as he threw up. The image of him just grinned evilly as he stood and looked at him. His heart raced as a cold chill of death ran up his spine. “Why are you doing this”, he called out. His evil image just grinned maliciously. “Why do you look like me? Do I know you?” Confusion filled his mind and he couldn’t think of what to do. The image stopped. “I am the other you Riku. I am what you are terrified of becoming. I do what you are too weak to accomplish. I protect you. I am you armor and your weapon. And until you know how to wield me I will take over when the situation calls for it.” “How do I wield you? How can I control you?” Riku’s fists clenched as he looked at the evil monster. With a slight chuckle he replied, “You must know when it is the time to be evil and when it is not. That I leave to you. You know how, but lack the power to pull through. Just watch, if you can’t control me, at the tournament, you will see your true power.” Riku watched as the form of him vanished into the fog. “What am I supposed to do? How can I stop you?” But no answer came. Feeling his body shake his eyes shot opened seeing Garin standing over him. “Riku, you ok?” Fatigue took hold as he looked at the only one he could call a friend. Taking a deep breath he replied, “Yeah, just a nightmare.” Looking up he saw Garin grinning evilly. “Why you smiling?” Standing straight up Garin held out his hand displaying two eyeballs. Riku’s eyes widened as Garin stuck them in his mouth and began to chew. “They’re good. Why don’t we get some more.” Riku scooted against the wall and screamed out. But as he tried nothing came out but pain. A sharp pain ran through his lungs then to his throat. Gripping tightly he forgot the horrific scene with Garin a bent over trying to breath. Something was moving. Something was trying to get out of his throat. Feeling it enter his mouth, then reach his teeth he forced his gag reflexes to work. Come on. Get out. It hurts! Once freed he looked down and saw an egg. “What is that?” Garin let out a maniacal laugh. “My my Riku, a parent at your age. Congratulations.” Riku watched horrified as the egg cracked open revealing an infant miniature Riku. A sense of evil poured from the egg as he watched. The infant grew rapidly till it was as big as he was. Sitting up, the naked Midgar looked at him. The one from my dream! But how can this be? His twin grinned then vanished. A loud explosion could be heard as he saw a pillar of fire erupt down the hall. After the fire cleared he ran as fast as he could down the hall and saw burnt corpses lying about. Tears flooded his eyes as he saw the Masters dead as well. “Why are you doing this?!” Garin laughed. “Who do you think is doing this? It is you Riku. You are doing this!” Riku felt his rage boil he looked around. “I can’t be doing this. I never did anything to them! Why are you saying it’s me who is doing this?” Garin Pointed to where Riku’s evil twin stood grinning at the destruction he had done. “No! That’s not me!” Looking at Riku, “Oh I am you Riku. I am your desire, your dream. I am what you want to be. I am the power you seek.” Charging forward Riku threw a punch at his evil self. The evil twin vanished as the punch hit air. Losing his balance he fell face first into the stomach of an unrecognizable corpse. The stomach caved in sending his face into the internal organs. Pulling back quickly he stood up and backed away. Feeling something crunch under his left foot he looked down and saw he had crushed that one’s arm. Feeling had been lost in his body as the rage was too great to bear. The evil twin stood by Garin and they watched as Riku’s aura exploded in a violent fury. They both laughed maniacally as they saw his rage build. That’s right Riku, the stronger you get the stronger I get. And when that happens, I will be impossible to control. Riku looked at the two before him with hatred in his eyes. A fury he had never felt raged in his body. He felt stronger, more powerful. Charging forth he threw a knee to Garin which was easily blocked as Garin remained in same posture, only lowering his hand to block the knee. “He’s still much too weak. Maybe get him angrier?” His evil twin laughed. “I know just the thing for peace lovers.” Vanishing he appeared moments later with an egg. It was another egg. Riku’s eyes widened as he saw it crack open. Shaking his head he knew what was coming. The evil twin grinned and once the egg was open all the way, he tightened his grip crushing the infant. Rage built up then released violently as his aura ravaged the land. The temple shook violently collapsing the roof and walls. Through the dust they watched the blue aura swirl around Riku. “My my, he really is pissed now.” Garin laughed. Lifting off the ground, Riku hovered there for a moment then rushed forward sending a punch through Garin’s face. The skull caved in spraying blood and pieces of his brain in all directions. A laugh came from behind. Turning around he saw Garin standing there. Looking back he saw the corpse of the elder. Arching his back backwards he let out a scream that echoed through the terrain. His eyes shot open and he was in his own room still dark. Sitting up he felt his entire body soaked in sweat. Feeling the bed, it was wet as well. Sliding out of bed he placed his feet on the ground and stood. In moments his legs gave way collapsing him to the ground. Laying there he was scared. He could barely move, and the nightmare he just had was far too realistic. Using what little strength he could muster, he sat up. Sitting there for hours he did everything he could to not fall asleep. Day broke and his door opened to reveal Garin. Riku’s eyes widened as he scooted away. “Riku, what’s wrong?” Shaking his head he tried to get away from Garin but soon he was cornered. Garin could see fear in his eye. Garin ran out calling for help. In moments the elder was in the room kneeling beside Riku who was frozen. Touching Riku, the elder tried to calm him down. Turning his head, Riku’s eyes began to water as he realized who it was. Leaping forward he embraced the elder in a hug. The pressure of him killing everyone lifted as he was assured it was just a nightmare. The elder looked at Garin with a worried look. Riku sat there listening to the quiet conversation in the next room. He couldn’t hear them, but he knew it was about him. Looking up he saw Ralin standing there with a smirk. “What a baby. Nightmares are causing this big of a ruckus. Riku you have sunk to a new low. How pathetic.” Lowering his head he clenched his fists tightly. He could feel his hate for the boy increase as Ralin continued his bantering. In a soft voice Riku said, “Shut up.” Ralin stopped talking and looked at Riku. Laughing he said, “Ah what is a baby like you gonna do about it?” Standing he threw his fists at his side and rolled his eyes up so he could see Ralin. Then with a violent burst of energy he screamed out, “Shut up!” Rushing out the door, the elder saw Riku standing there with a black aura. Evil could be felt as the black energy swirled around. Looking across the way he saw Ralin standing there with a cocky look on his face. As loud as he could the elder called out, “Enough!” Both children looked at him. The black aura vanished. Lowering his head Riku sat back down. I will kill you. You are done tormenting me. Just wait, you’ll die soon. “Ralin, get out!” Ralin turned and bowed to the elder and ran off. “Now then Riku, you are to follow me.” Riku didn’t nod just got up and followed. Garin could feel the hate and pain coming from Riku as they walked outside. It was just Riku and the elder now. Both walking through the field heading out away from the temple. “I’m sorry Elder.” The elder placed his hand on the boy’s shoulder and shook his head. “I’m going to see to your training personally. I know you have much power, but you have yet to control it. So that is going to be my goal.” He’s lying Riku. He wants to take your power from you. Shut up! Haven’t you done enough! You torment me. I don’t care if he has to kill me to get rid of you. Ha! He wouldn’t get the chance. Coming to a clearing Riku’s mouth dropped as he saw a massive water fall. A rainbow ran near the top of the mist from the clashing of the falling water. Looking up the side of the cliff, small banzai trees grew then up at the top was a massive forest with trees fifty feet tall or taller. Birds filled the sky and sounds of wildlife were music to his ears. He couldn’t believe his how beautiful this place was. It was heaven. Looking at his master he followed to where the water met the land and he sat in the grass and signaled for Riku to do the same. “Now Riku, we are going to do some heavy meditation. This will help release and control your power. Now close your eyes and breathe calmly.” Riku did as he was told. His mind was completely clear which for him, was the first time in a very long time. The sounds soon faded and the next thing he knew he was overlooking the waterfall and himself from high in the sky. Looking around he saw trees as far as the eye could see. He felt at peace. He couldn’t believe how happy he was. Flying just above the tree tops he watched as birds flew with him as if he was part of their flock. The wind was nice and refreshing as the day was hot. Stopping he looked around, then up. The sky was perfectly blue and he could see some high altitude birds flying. This was what he desired all along. Peace. Opening his eyes he noticed it had gotten dark but the master was still meditating. Riku was relaxed and wanted to go swimming as the day was hot. Getting up, he walked to the edge of the pool of water that drained into a river. Taking his clothes off, he walked in. The cold water was a blessing as he ducked his head underwater. Coming back up he looked up at the sky. The sky was clear and all the stars were out. Looking around he saw the one star that was named after the most powerful Keyblader to have ever lived. Garish. Closing his eyes he said, “Help me Garish. Help me become strong like you so that I can finally be at peace.” A faint whisper could be heard in his mind. Don’t worry child. The end will work out. Things seem terrible right now. But your time to shine will come and those who have sought to wrong you will be destroyed and you will finally be at peace. But in the meantime, be strong. You have a strong will. Use it and don’t let anything force you to falter without a good fight. Grinning Riku nodded and leaned back in the water. Closing his eyes he let the sound of water lull him to sleep. Feeling warmth, Riku opened his eyes and noticed it was still dark and he was still in the forest but on land and he was dry. Looking over he saw the elder sitting there looking into the fire he had started. “Did I fall asleep?” The elder smiled. “Yes but I got you out in time. You were about to head down river. Then you’d certainly be lost.” Sitting up he watched as the flames danced wildly. He watched them and recognized a kind of pattern in them. The following weeks were peaceful. He hadn’t felt anger, hatred or any other negative emotions. The time he spent here was helping. The elder had agreed that Riku was now ready to return to the students as the tournament was about to begin. The trip back seemed short as Riku was eager to get back. He had forgotten his problems with Ralin and the others. When they arrived, the students were out training with their partners. First one to spot them was Garin who stopped and ran up to them. “Hey! Welcome back!” Looking at Riku he said, “I can see you’ve changed.” Riku smiled and blushed a bit. He had changed though he was still the quiet type. “Thank you Garin. Yeah, we trained hard there and I think it helped.” Ralin walked up and smiled. “Well Riku has returned!” Garin was wincing as he was fearing Riku would explode with anger again, but nothing came. Instead he heard him reply. “Yes I have Ralin, and I look forward to facing you in the tournament, that is if you accept.” Everyone stood speechless except the elder who just grinned, a proud grin. Ralin replied, “Of course. What do I have to fear? Better train hard. You’ve only got two days left.” Seeing Riku acknowledge, Ralin parted from the growing group. Damn, I may need to train harder. I felt his energy. It was massive. What do I do? Dinner came and it was a peaceful meal. Everyone enjoyed themselves as chatter and laughter could be heard. The elder looked on at Riku who was conversing. He tried to be happy but something wasn’t right. No way was it that easy. Not once did it come out and try to resist. No he’s waiting patiently. This is the calm before the storm. But I can’t cancel the match. They both need this. Hopefully it doesn’t happen till afterwards. I’ll take him and train him more and forcibly remove that demon. The days wore on, and then the time of the tournament was upon them. The storm had come as predicted, unleashing its fury upon them. Those students who didn’t want to weather the storm were allowed to stay though with the fight between Riku and Ralin made everyone excited to watch. They journeyed down the path. Most didn’t know how to jump so high yet so they all walked through the thick mud. After an hour they could see the location. It was crescent shaped and six hundred feet out was the island where they would fight. It was a thousand feet in diameter making it almost impossible for warrior to fall to their deaths. Though they did happen. Usually only when the fighters took flight. They walked and lined up ten feet from the edge spreading out along the crescent overlooking the battle ground. The waves were massive and struck the platform hard. Thunder rumbled overhead and lightning struck nearby. The winds made it difficult to stand but they tried. This was both a testing grounds and training grounds. Never has everyone stayed standing as the winds usually got worst then the energy shockwaves on top of that. A Keyblade in a white vest walked up to the elder and showed a small device. It was Franer, a scientist from a nearby village. He had been working on new technologies to improve the training. Pull out of his vest pocket he showed the elder a little black device with a screen. “Master, this device will read their power so you can get an idea of where everyone is at. It’s fairly accurate and can withstand more than this storm is putting out. It reads their overall power, not their abilities as a fighter. So like ones win and loss record, it just provides physical evidence, not circumstantial.” The elder nodded and took the device. Calling out he said, “Rew and Cres. Please go to the island.” Both from the older class, they were both considered the top fighters out of the students. The stepped forward and flew to the island having no trouble against the ever increasing wind. The elder looked down and hit a button that turned it on. It read the sources then the levels. Both read eighteen hundred, which was a massive power level even as far as the masters were concerned. The fight started with Rew rushing forward throwing a right hook. Cres dodged to the right using his right hand to deflect. Stepping in he sent a left punch to the gut. Rew looking down planted his hand on Cres’ fist before it connected and diverted it down, then sending an elbow to the side of Cres’ head he struck and sent Rew to the ground. Riku watched the warrior get up. Then in moments the fight continued. Starting out with only physical attacks, it escalated quickly to energy attack. The colors of the energy was astonishing as each one provided a sense of power. Blue was common and was fairly powerful, with yellow being the weakest and red being the most powerful. Though it is said that black energy, though evil was far more powerful than any other types. The only energy that could meet it was white energy which was considered the energy of an angel. The energies collided creating shockwaves that was pushing most down to the ground, but Riku stood unfazed as he was concentrating on the fight at hand. A stir of power from within made him even more hungrier for battle. Then after a few minutes the battle was over with Cres as the victor. Both were breathing hard but Cres was the only one able to stand. The elder read the levels again and saw they had dropped significantly. Cres was at three hundred and six and Rew was at thirty. The elder called out the winner, and two masters flew over to assist them. . The fights continued through the day and Riku got more and more excited. The other fights weren’t nearly as great but that didn’t matter. Seeing the blows, the energy, and the bones breaking was enough for Riku to be excited. Then the time came. The elder called out Ralin and Riku. Looking over at Ralin, Riku grinned and lifted into the air as did Ralin and both flew out to the island. The elder watched them land then read their scores based on their performance. Ralin two hundred and sixteen and Riku one hundred and fifty nine. The elder looked at Riku. The elder looked at the two. “Ralin doesn’t stand a chance if Riku loses control. Currently they have the highest levels out of the juniors. Hope Ralin surrenders or it could be a bad day for all of us.” Ralin looked at Riku and grinned. “Well Riku, it feels like your power is weak compared to mine.” Riku grinned. “I don’t care. I’m just gonna shut you up this time.” They got into a fighting stance, Ralin more aggressive one and Riku with the Fral ma Thal stance. Then it started. Ralin rushed forward sending a strike to Riku’s face which was blocked easily by Riku’s front hand. Spinning to the left, Riku sent an elbow that was blocked by Ralin who then retaliated with a side kick that sent Riku flying back and few feet, then to the ground. Looking up Riku stood and changed his stance to the Gret Sedra which was a similar stance but meant to counter the opponent’s attacks. Ralin again rushed forward and threw a right roundhouse to Riku’s head which went over his head as he ducked down. The elder watched the numbers but they stayed the same as the child warriors fought as hard as they could. Riku though over powered showed he was much more intelligent of a fighter. They traded blows then after neither got anywhere they stepped back. The strong winds making it difficult to stand as they breathed deeply. The Ralin grinned. “Well it looks like this gap isn’t enough. You’ve got smarts, I’ll give ya that. But brains can only take you so far when you’re weak. Now I will increase the difference more!” The elder looked on with a surprised look as he heard that. Then once the aura from Ralin exploded into sight, he looked down and read the energy. Ralin looked at Riku as his energy vanished and grinned. “Now you can’t best me. I’ve got power enough to compete with the third generation.” Riku looked on and grinned. “You may be stronger and faster, but I will show you, determination and brains can get you far in a fight.” Ralin laughed. “Oh yes Riku, they can get you far. But a baby like you who needs the master’s help because you had a nightmare will never be able to beat me.” Riku’s look turned from focused to anger in an instant. Here is goes. And if I’m right, no one is powerful enough to stop it. The fight proceeded with Ralin charging in again. Riku prepped and got ready. Then he vanished. Riku’s eyes widened. Looking around he couldn’t find him. Then he felt a sharp pain in his back as he flew forward from Ralin’s knee. Landing hard on the ground he tried to get up. But it was useless as another blow knocked him to the ground. Coughing he tried to move but was unable to. The elder looked at the reader and saw Riku’s energy start to go down with every strike. Ralin stood nearby Riku, and whenever he tried to stand he would knock him down again. Why can’t I do this? Why can’t I win? Why am I so weak! You called? What? You! I thought I got rid of you! You can’t get rid of yourself, so how can you get rid of me. I don’t need your help! My my, such an angry child. Well you are obviously too weak to beat him. How about if I just loan you some power? I won’t take over, but I can boost you enough so you can defeat him. Why do you want that? Because, he pisses me off and I’d like to see him lose to someone who he called pathetic and a baby. Fine. Pushing himself up, Ralin threw another kick that was instantly caught by Riku as his aura exploded. “It’s happening!” Looking at the device his eyes widened. The students watched in horror as the one they had teased just became stronger than the elder. Ralin felt the hand squeeze his foot as he screamed out in pain. The aura changed to a deep blood red then adjusted to black as more energy arrived. “ We can’t stop him. Everyone, get away from here now!” The students who could jump away, flew as fast as they could with the senior students staying behind with the masters. It wasn’t the black energy. It was the level and the fact that it kept growing with no end in sight. Ralin felt his foot snap and a deep sharp pain erupted forcing out a cry of pain. Then he fell backwards as Riku let go and stood. Looking at the one he thought was weak Ralin could feel pure evil pouring from Riku. Arching back Riku let out a terrifying scream as the island began to crumble beneath them. Ralin took to the air as the island gave was taking Riku down with it to the depths of the underwater world. Looking up at the injured boy, an elder called out. “Ralin! Run! Get out of here.” With a nod Ralin began to fly towards the school. A rumble came from the ground, then a beam of black energy shot up from the ocean and struck Ralin, blasting itself through his stomach. The corpse of Ralin fell to the ground exposing his internal organs. Those around ran to see if they could do anything, but it was too late. He was dead. As soon as the deed had been done, Riku dropped to the ground and fell asleep. It was then that the elders knew what they had to do: They sealed Riku up, making sure that he would never learn to use magic to enhance his attacks. He could prove to be a powerful ally in the future, but they didn’t need him running around with his true power before he was truly ready to control it. All in all, the teen would walk away with no skills gained, except perhaps, the modest Materia reward for winning the tournament. Yes, he would at least gain something out of all of it. When Riku awoke days later, he was told that his elders had gotten rid of his ability to jump, as they didn't want him flying around like an idiot any longer. They told him that now that he had mastered using magic powers to some degree that he would have an effect on the nature around him if he happened to use elemental materia. Grudgingly, Riku accepted the knowledge and decided to make the best of it. Maybe now that he was to be under constant observation, he would stop being emotional and actually get a life. As the teen started to get up and leave the room as if to take a walk around the facility, a man confronted him. "I think there's something that you should know. I have noticed that you have visioned yourself giving birth to various eggs over the past couple weeks. The real reason for that, is because you're a girl. I know you've probably never checked, but it is how it is. I am sorry." With a fatal yell, Riku dropped to the floor, knowing that it was the truth. [lol] |
