The following is a basic guide to what you can do when your character dies or when you kill a character.

I killed a Character

When a character dies, all their stuff is up for grabs by those who kill them. One of the perks of doing so. If the person doesn't have the strength to take it all, then they must leave what they cannot carry. They MAY leave some of their own belongings there so that they can take their old opponents belongings.

I died!? What do I do!?

Well, there are a number of things you can do. Also, by a number I mean three.

  • Have your character's soul become a part of the planet.
  • Have your character's soul become a Materia
  • Have your character's soul create a Materia and become a part of the planet.

When your character's soul becomes a part of the planet, their existence is basically gone. Your character may appear in visions to those who were close to them and may even be the source in Epics you host to pass on knowledge to a group of people, that or just wreck havoc.

If you chose for them to become a Materia, you must pick ONE of their Limit Breaks or a Limit Break Chain. The Materia becomes that Limit Break. The Materia will have requirements and a cost (Unlike the Limit Break) and must go through a SPECIAL request form through PM with Cloud. ONLY do this IF the character is dead and done with.

If the character's soul returns to the Planet and creates a Summon Materia, the character can be summoned like other Summons. The requirements will not be as much as if they were to become a Materia, but the requirements will be more specific. When the old Character is Summoned, they will perform one of their Limit Breaks (You pick it when you make the Materia). That Limit Break will be used each and every time when summoned.

What's the Format for Materia?

-Materia Name- [-Attack Name-: 0 AP] Level 1
Description: [---]
Requirements:
Effect:
Cost:

If the Limit Break used was a Chain (Like say; Fire at Level 1, Fira at Level 2 and Firaga at Level 3). Then all three Limit Breaks may be used in the Materia made out of your past character. This, however, cannot be done for Summons (So it may be wise to pick the most powerful one for Summons).

When Summoning a Past Character, they might not look the same as before. They may look far more Epic than before, looking as bad ass as the old user wishes. So describe them in the actual Materia.

What would the requirements be?

When it comes to non-Summon Materia, it will be decided by Cloud. The requirements will be higher depending on the Limit Break, the Limit Break Level and the effect. It would be easier on Cloud if you make a guess at the Requirements yourself.

When it comes to Summon Requirements they will all require the Summoner Ability and a few specific Requirements depending on the Character that is being summoned.

What kind of Specific Requirements?

Alignment

If the old character's Alignment was at 45% or lower, then there will be a requirements of 45% or lower Alignment. It will be that way if it is at ANY point lower than 46%. Even if it was 37% the requirements would be 37% or lower.

Now, this goes for Alignments higher than 50% as well. At 55% Alignment or higher, there will be an Alignment requirement much like the one above. So if a character's Alignment is 55% or at any number higher than 55%, they will have an Alignment Requirement of that number or higher on the Summon Materia.

Element

If the Limit Break Chosen has an Element or the character was particularly known for using a specific element, they will have a requirement for that element. It can be as simple as the user needing an Accessory, Ability, Materia or Trait that has to do with that Element.

Materia Slots

If the character that has become a Summon's Strength is higher than their Endurance, the Summon Materia must be in a Weapon Slot to be used. On the other hand, if their Endurance is higher than their Strength, it must be in an Armor Slot. If their Strength and Endurance is equal, it can be in either.

Status Ailment

If the character that has become a Summon died while under a Status Ailment of any kind (Good or bad) then the Summoner must be under that status to summon them.

EX: If the character died while under the effect of Haste then the user must be using Haste to Summon the previous character.

Note: Casting Requirements may be set if there are a lack of requirements due to unique circumstances or if the Limit Break is SUPER powerful.

Who's stats would I follow with the Summon/Materia?

The character using it. The effects of the Materia are the same, but you follow the stats of the character who is using it.

How would my new character find the Materia?

You would need to do a ten paragraph solo thread to find it by chance. Fate would lead your character to it by any means you find entertaining. Any belongings of your character that are left there are up for grabs with your new character as well. But they'd have to be able to carry them all, so choose wisely.

What if my character doesn't have any Limit Breaks?

Then their soul is too weak to make a Materia and joins the Life Stream.

What if I have more than one character that dies?

Then their souls can combine to form a Materia. This is a unique case and one needs to PM me about it.

As of today, a new method had been added to the Replacement system.

You calculate the total Grade from all of the characters you are getting rid of. This is typically done by subtracting the starting HP from the current HP, although individual cases may vary. From there, you then cut that amount in half. The result is the amount of stats you are allowed to add to a new character during sign-up.

ex. Bob's character Jimmy has 355 HP. He started with 155 HP. His grade is, thusly, 200. That means that when he signs up for his new character, Bob may transfer over 100 of those 200 points.

In addition to the new option for replacement, there has also been a change in how items are passed on. Unless there is an ability or technique that says otherwise, the total value of what can be passed on will be equal to the Grade * 15.

ex. Jimmy had 200 grade. The value of what he can pass on, then, is 3000 Gil.

Now this value can be split up in whatever way you choose. Weapons, armor, accessories, items, Materia and raw Gil are all free game. If your Value Limit is greater than the worth of your possessions, then everything may be passed down. If the worth is greater than the Value Limit, you will have to pick and choose.
