This coast on the Eastern continent was similar to the one she had grown up on in the western continent. There was lots of sun in both places, and many agreed it was very beautiful here and there. Nostalgia was something Jackie could live without though. She had most definitely returned from her prior mission defeated, even if all objectives had been carried out.

’I didn’t almost get killed on that one. Everyone else did this time. Am I lucky? I seem to be able to walk away from the most grevious of injuries…It can’t be luck. Luck wouldn’t favor any single person this way.’ She brushed her hair behind her ear as the wind blew it out of place.

There she was, sitting on the sand. Her gun was beside her as her eyes scanned the ocean for no reason. It was a habit. Always looking for some target or another to shoot at. Some snipers had their own spotters. A person would pull up a set of binoculars and scout the area, calling out targets to the sniper.

She shook her head. No thoughts of home for her. She wasn’t a little girl anymore…and…after what she had done…She’d rather forget that place had ever been her home. She grabbed her gun and set it on her lap, once again reading the engraving on the side of the weapon: Markus Sword.

’One of these days, I’ll find out who the hell you are.’ She thought to herself. She was amused that she had found herself a cute little side quest to complete…It was something she could do to take her mind off things, but truthfully, this woman was tough. She had just proven to herself in her last mission that she could most certainly be as cold as ice.

”Maybe I’ll change my nickname to fortune…” She was saying to herself, ”Lord knows how many close calls I’ve had already: Two times on a death bed is two times to many.” She laughed at the thought then went on a tangent ”Then again…I probably shouldn’t. A name like that would jinx the whole thing! Besides; the late ‘J’ gave me that one. Only he could have thought of something as stupid as ‘Head Shot’. ”

Angeles was walking for once. She had walked past the fields and past Kalm and now was nearing the beach. She didn’t know why she was going to the beach. She hated getting wet, and it wasn’t like sunbathing would make her look any less clone-ish. She did however like the sound of the waves. It had been the strong thoughts of the tide that had first silenced Sephiroth’s drivel within her mind. She could even picture the same image in her head: a twilight rainstorm just past and the tide crashing against the shores like the subsiding wrath of a god.

She opened her eyes and saw that this was not so. It was a bright sunny day, not a cloud in the sky, and now was not the right time to come visit the tide. A light breeze brought the salty scent of the sea to her nose as well as a familiar scent. She opened her eyes and looked around then approached the beach. There sitting on the sand was the back of woman, who’s hair was unmistakable; black with electric blue tips.

Angeles hummed in amusement and approached the woman from behind and said, “I’m glad to see you’re doing better than you were in the canyon,” Angeles looked from the woman to the ocean, then settled herself down on the sand casually and waited for the sniper to respond.

"Yeah...Still breathing." Jackie said, looking up at the woman that had saved her life. She recognized her features perfectly. It wasn't hard to see through the scope of a sniper rifle and examine the faces of the people you were going to kill. It was her great fortune that she hadn't shot. "Thanks to you." Jackie didn't really question the sephiroth clone, but instead recalled how similar she was to all of the other people that had been there on the scene. All those people with the silver hair and the black cloaks...When she had gotten up and looked over the entire scene she was covered with dead SOLDIERs and Dead clones. It was scary. "I'm really grateful." She told the clone. She wanted to say something else. Her mind was really spinning over this topic; The silver hair...the eyes...

'Who is she? Why did you help me? What are you? Questions I'd like to be answered but...never look a gift horse in the mouth.' Jackie looked back to the ocean as well. She licked her lips as she felt a tad bit of...betrayal towards SOLDIER for what she knew she wanted to say now. Jackie looked over at Angeles, stood up and confronted the other woman. "I pay my debts. I feel I owe you something now." She let the Ocean get its roar in before she continued.

"If you...ever need anything, or if there is anything I can do for you...Let me know." Jackie figured the woman was already familiar with her skills. It wasn't hard to tell what a sniper did when you saw them in a uniform and holding a sniper rifle. It was usually a good guess in her opinion. She picked up her rifle and wiped the sand off of its side. She went through a quick check up on the rifle. It was mostly a nervous habit kind of thing. When she was nervous she always made sure her gun was ready. This way she would be ready. Being ready made her feel safe.

"So what brings you here today?" She asked, she looked around as if the answer might be obvious, just in sight, and somehow she had not been able to see. Her eyes looked over the other woman again...She quickly shook her head. Jackie had picked up many 'War habits'. She always checked for Escape routes...she always checked people for obvious weapons. "I just got back from a mission myself...No I didn't almost die." She laughed at Angeles. "But everyone else did." A quick flash entered her mind as she felt herself pulling the trigger on the gun that had blown the head off of her own father.

Angeles smiled in response to Jackie’s response but her eyes were not on the young woman. She was looking out across the ocean, at the continent she needed to be on but wasn’t. She would go there soon, when she was ready to face Daze again at her full power, when she was able to completely block out his and Sephiroth’s and anyone else’s voice from her mind. She closed her eyes and listened to the surf, causing Sephiroth’s whispers to completely silence. She had learned a lot from the reports and diaries that were kept in the small library, but if there was one thing she still needed information on, it was what exactly the ‘Reunion’ was.

Her thoughts were distracted by the woman standing up beside her, and she opened her eyes to see that she had moved to stand in front of Angeles with conflicting emotions in her eyes before she made a general ‘thank you’ sort of gesture. Angeles nodded slightly then shook her head. She couldn’t think of anything that she needed the Soldier to do, but she was not about to refuse. There would most likely be a time in the future when Angeles would need all the help she could get.

“I’ll hold you to it,” Angeles said pointing at the Soldier and feeling so much like Reno that she smirked. Angeles listened for a moment as the girl asked her own question and Angeles sighed and laid down on her back, “sit down there’s no need to stand,” she said before closing her eyes, “I’m taking a break from training, getting ready to fight Daze the next time he rears his head. And you, you said you come back from a mission. Are you getting stronger as well?”

Jackie sat back down at Angeles's request. This place was peaceful, it was quite contradictory to the way the world worked. Violence and chaos ruled everywhere else. She supposed that this is why people came to the beach; because it was a place to forget life for a while. Stress could kill. Pressure clouded desicions. One thing that Jackie had felt always kept the pressure off of her was the fact that she was scarcely responsible for completeing orders she had been given - though if she failed that usually meant they found their scapegoat in her...actually she had never really thought about this, and now that she had it bothered her.

"Stronger? I don't think so." Jackie figured that since she wasn't the type to wield two handed swords with one hand and throw huge boulders around she wasn't exactly going to be much help in melee combat. She wouldn't be much help period; Daze seemed to be too fast. "How can I get stronger if all I do is shoot people from nondisclosed locations?" If she really wanted to help she'd need a bigger gun, and she'd need to work on her aiming a lot more. "My last mission was really hard on me; they made me kill my own father." She sighed as she looked at her gun. The weapon that would mercilessly kill anyone who was on the wrong end of the barrel.

It would even kill Jackie if she wasn't careful.

"I didn't get to see how well you did. I suppose you must be stronger than I. I..." She looked at Angeles's hair and eyes again. "You look just like them..." Jackie said. She meant the Sephiroth clones, but she didn't mean any harm from the statement. What she really wanted to say was 'What are you?' or maybe even 'Why did you save me.', but she wasn't sure what would be the most polite thing to say...at least the thing she really did say was...neutral. She thought.

Angeles looked over at the woman as she spoke. Her expression didn’t change, but it was apparent that she was listening. The woman couldn’t have been much younger than Angeles herself. But still she seemed to young. Young wasn’t the right word; youthful. The electric blue that would have blinded anyone who didn’t work with a pale red head at some point in time was on her lips and in the tips of her hair and the hairclip and on her fingernails and the fishnet shirt she wore. Angeles was surprised that her eyeshadow wasn’t blue.

But one thing she did notice was that the woman had a scar across her neck similar to the one Angeles had herself. She narrowed her eyes at this discovery but didn’t say anything until the woman made a comment that made Angeles smile and turn her gaze back to the sky, “Shinra sure does like to keep things quiet, especially from you Soldiers,” Angeles blinked and kept her lids closed as she inhaled softly and then began speaking again.

“We all look alike because we are basically the same person. We are all copies of Sephiroth, the first class that ‘died’ not too long ago. Daze is one also, but he is much more powerful than any of the others I have met. He has the ability to control us, which is very dangerous and so he must be killed,” Angeles opened her eyes then extended her hand to the Soldier, “I’m Angeles by the way, Angeles Clementine formerly of the Turks.”

"You're paid to do your job, not ask questions." Jackie quoted of the Shinra Executives. Jackie thought for a moment concerning this...she had never asked a question before, but that was no doubt going to be the answer should she ever. They would never answer such a question. They didn't answer any questions ever. The only questions they ever answered were who to kill or where to go. Orders. Nothing else.

"Copies?" Jackie immediately felt a large amount of Compassion towards Angeles...being a clone of something else must have sucked big time, but then Angeles went on about her introduction...Ex turk? Jackie couldn't hide her surprise. "You were a turk?" She blurted out before thinking. Immediately she shook that off and took Angeles's hand. "I'm Jackie, third Class SOLDIER. Nothing Special I suppose."

The after she had shook Angeles's hand, she returned to herself and her thoughts...pondering various ponderings concerning This woman's abilities. No wonder she was in debt to this person: She had been a turk. That obviously meant that she had a level skill beyond what Jackie had expected. Everyone seemed to be so strong. Jackie was just a sniper. It was her job to be patient, and to shoot. Hardly any strength involved.

“Being Soldier is special in itself,” she said recalling all of the ‘recruiting’ missions Turks were on, how only one in every five person would make it through the conditioning. No one had quite understood what happened to the four of every group until the Nibelheim reactor was investigated and the mutated humans known as ‘makonoids’ were found inside their containers. Angeles looked over at Jackie and looked her up and down. She was a very beautiful woman, it would have been a shame if she hadn’t made it through the conditioning and been mutated. She was a very lucky woman.

Angeles smirked slightly and looked back at the sky. It was a beautiful shade, nearly the same color as the blue Jackie seemed so fond of except less neon. Angeles blinked a couple times then closed her eyes in complete relaxation, “its nice,” she said randomly, “not often do you get to just lay on the beach and feel the wind against your skin. Especially if you work with Shinra.”

"I suppose it is." For Jackie though...it was something of an escape. She escaped life at a whore house by coming to SOLDIER. They turned her into a warrior. A weapon. Ever since, she had never been able to look at the world the same way again. Jackie may have seemed "young", but in modern psychology; one often takes up a mask to cover up their pain. Usually without even realizing it. Jackie had never been aware of the 'risks'. She was as ignorant as any other member of SOLDIER. Though she did see the "Sephiroth" in Angeles. If she tried hard enough. Sephiroth was practically the figure head of SOLDIER. Even if he had died.

"You're not on their pay roll anymore though...are you?" The woman looked over her own weapon. The sniper rifle made by Markus Sword. It was a very interesting gun indeed. Customly made for the man himself, yet somehow it had ended up in her hands. She wondered who this person was that had had this gun before her, and wondered if she would ever get a chance to meet him in her lifetime. "They gave me some down time to deal with the death of my family." Jackie said.

She didn't mention at all that the death of her family was by her own hands. Jackie couldn't believe it still. She'd kill her own family because she had been ordered to. Her father had let himself be killed. 'I'd die for you. I never lied about that. Even if its by your hands. I'd die for you.' No...he died because of her. Not for her. His life was wasted, even if he had been a gluttonous crime lord. The she had needed the time to get over it...she still needed it. She closed her eyes hard as she stopped a waterfall from bursting down her face. That's what it felt like.

"Its hard." She said, her voice cracked just a little. She remained composed though. She opened her eyes again...they were just a tad watery but other than that there were no tears. "This place is just like my home town, did you know that? Costa del Sol. I think I'll hate beaches from now on..." Jackie pursed her lips for a moment and shook her head, "Where do you come from...? If you come...from...somewhere..." Jackie felt the awkwardness of the question on her tongue, but before she could stop it, it was too late, the question had already been asked. 'Do clones...come from anywhere? I don't know... I hope...argh - I need to stop making assumptions with her. '

Angeles laughed and shook her head to Jackie’s first question. She hadn’t been on the Shinra payroll for nine months, and her bank account had even been emptied, though that didn’t matter much to her. ATM machines were completely beyond her now. She chuckled to herself as her thoughts turned to her recent inability to work machines. She didn’t even know how to turn her phone off the ‘silent mode’ she had left it in. But that also didn’t matter, she felt safer with it on silent. Eventually though, she would have to turn the phone off, when her Turks and her were on opposite sides.

She looked over at the woman who was looking at the gun she had and Angeles reached up and touched the hilt of the ninjato on her back. it seemed that no one could go anywhere nowadays without a weapon. Then Jackie brought up her father’s death again and Angeles saw her close her eyes. Angeles’ expression softened and she moved her hand to out it comfortingly on Jackie’s leg then the woman began to speak again. She retracted her hand then arched slightly so that she could point to the east and say, “over there, I come from Kalm.”

She settled again and put her hands behind her head looking at the woman, “clones… used to be people. Well we still are but we weren’t always clones. We were changed into what we are now by Professor Hojo. I’m trying to figure out exactly what was changed, but I’m not sure if I could comprehend it all,” she looked back up at the sky and blinked slowly as a gull cried overhead, “I suppose that’s the kind of thing you leave to the scientists.”

"Kalm...a funny name for a town." It was rather...ironic? No that wasn't quite the word, but it was very strange if you thought about it. The name of the town that is. It related so well to the state of life there. It all seemed so calm. A pun perhaps? Jackie guessed that no one had really intended for things to end up that way...it just had... Then again...was it really calm? She knew that secrets easily hid underneath the things you truly wanted to believe.

"That must suck." Jackie said, concerning the part about becoming a clone. A clone used to have a normal life it seemed? Why were they called clones then? It was because they were meant to look like Sephiroth obviously...not just look like him, but to be him though. How could you make another Sephiroth? He was just too great. The propaganda for SOLDIER put him up like some kind of god of this universe. What were they supposed to think when they realized that their idol was being duplicated in mass? It was frightening...thats why daze had to be stopped huh?

"I'd hate to have to live in the shadow of SOLDIER's demi god..." She said. "I've also always hated those scientists. They were the kind of men that visited my Father's Brothel. Real Scum."

“Funny?” she asked looking at Jackie with curious eyes, wondering how she had come to the conclusion that the name ‘Kalm’ was funny. She then hummed in thought and looked at the sky, “I guess it is funny to name a city ‘Kalm’ when it has a giant wall surrounding it. It’s like they’re expecting a war or something,” she smiled slightly and murmured, “they must be preparing for an upcoming chocobo attack.”

She sighed and closed her eyes and suddenly felt a pull towards the ocean. She arched her back and flipped onto her feet and walked towards the surf. She turned and listened to Jackie speak for a moment then turned to look at the ocean. She sensed something, a disturbance in the force. Daze was doing something she could feel it. But where was he? She gnashed her teeth then turned to the Soldier and looked at her in the eyes.

“I’m sorry to cut our talk short Jackie, but Daze is up to something. I have to go check it out,” she turned and spread her wing then looked over her shoulder and said, “if you wish, we can talk again when times are less dire, my number is 846-2368,” Angeles then flapped her wing, sending sand swirling beneath her as she took off into the sky and headed towards the west continent, not entirely sure if she was ready to face Daze.

"What? He's doing something? Dang it...come back!" It was too late, Angeles had already taken off. Jackie lifted her gun and quickly hoisted it over her shoulder running back to the Head quarters. "I have to inform my supperiors...in all likely hood they already know. Dang it...its always being kept a secret from people like me...I'll be a help this time....I promise!"

Jackie Headed back to Midgard, where she would catch a helicopter or something of the sort that would take her along with her regiment to where ever she was needed to be.
