The White Mage
|
Zander watched with rapt attention as the other warriors present destroyed the other three staffs. It was pleasing to see that the other people in attendance paid enough attention to figure out what to do without him having to yell instructions and give away the plan. He was shocked as what appeared to be a crude airplane suddenly dropped out of the sky and crashed right into Daze, then exploded in a massive fireball. The young Rockport felt a slight push from the force of the outward pressure, but did not feel the need to so much as flinch. After a moment or two a few people went into action. Lini started to move aside some rubble, the plane's owner (the man that had given the speech earlier) began to organize things into piles, and Nex went to work repairing the man's mangled machine. As for Zander, he took a moment to assure himself that all of the staffs had truly been destroyed. His naginata was placed back into its harness as he walked around the large circle, examining the holes where each had been planted and making sure that no fragments had been left behind. Once he was satisfied, he turned to look at the crash site and was struck with a dilemma. On one hand, he knew he needed to confirm that Daze was actually dead...and yet at the same time, he wanted to hurry over and gather up the pieces of that sword and take it back to Headquarters for analysis. Daze had displayed an ability to summon that sword without even touching it, and Zander wanted to know whether that was due to Daze's own powers or due to some property of the sword. It is not as if I can be in two places at once though. Or...or can I? As possibilities rushing through the SOLDIER's mind, he decided to test one of them out. The immediate danger seemed to be over, so he could afford to experiment a little. Zander calmed himself and entered a light meditative state as he sought a way to accomplish the task before him. He focused first on what made him special...not the Mako or the JENOVA cells, but the fact that he was so well balanced physically, magically and mentally. Expanding upon that principle, he extended his internal energy to every bit of his body, using his exceptional control over his magic to spread it equally through every cell in his body. Once he felt that he had accomplished his task, he seized all of the energy at once, and 'pushed'. Zander opened his eyes and stared into an identical pair of slitted jade irises. The two identical men circled one another twice, then stopped and nodded in unison. One of them (whether it was the clone or the original no one could be entirely certain) walked over and began to gather up the pieces of Daze's shattered weapon, while the other approached Daze's slowly cooling corpse. "Best not to take any chances." The Zander near the body drew his weapon from its sheath and jabbed it down, opening a large gash across the front of the man's throat. The blade was pulled back and twisted sharply, sending a spray of blood droplets down onto the body, before the Zander nodded ones and vanished with an explosion of green energy particles. The other Zander, the real one, the original...he paused in his actions, smiled slightly, and then continued to gather up the broken pieces of metal.

Feeling quite bored with how insanely not hurt he had been, Riku ran over to Daze's now dead body, and picked up a random piece of Daze's sword. Noticing that somebody else was doing the same, Riku ripped his Restore Materia out of his armor, and chucked it as hard as he could at Zander. After all, he had been yelled at because of that guy. Either way, the teen decided that he would just go find another similar Materia elsewhere.

Apocalypse (Lv4)
|
"Ksssst...," the sound of an open radio link on the body of a Sentry unit on the ground near the group went off. "We... assistance... attacking us, all unit... report in," a voice called out, beckoning for assistance from any Shin-Ra units as they were under attack. It was the group trying to get JENOVA out of the area safely, however were having quite a bit of trouble doing so. Meanwhile... "She's not backing off!" the Sentry unit in the white bandanna said as he continued to fire at her. "Don't stop firing, we have to find a way to halt her attack and successfully get the package to Junon," the man said again as he encouraged his units to continue firing at Angeles. "Eat This..." one of the Sentry units behind the leader said as he pulled out a small metal box, which quickly unfolded into a large barrel with a trigger. He lifted the large object onto his shoulder as an eye piece unfolded over his eye. A loud bang sounded off as a rocket launched out from the rocket launcher straight towards Angeles at incredible speeds. There was one less machine gun-turrent firing at her now, but now she had a unit with a rocket launcher firing at her. With so many bullets going off at one person, she was bound to either withdraw or get seriously injured eventually. Few could evade all of this fire-power for very long. "I hope this hits..." the Sentry unit said as he begins to re-load his rocket launcher as the other two continue to fire at her from their vehicle's machine guns. Dagast on the other hand is having a bit more trouble than he needs. The heavily armored tank he hopped in was slow and difficult to handle. But it shouldn't be anything outside of his basic knowledge. The Sentry units guarding the executive and the container began to radio help to any units who were in the area. Hopefully they could get some form of back-up.

Angeles’s eyes widened in her rage. She had failed to knock anything off of the mountain and Dagast was still heading for the container. Her concentration on Dagast had kept her from paying attention to the other Sentry units. She however, did hear the comment ‘eat this,’ and turned just in time to see the missile before it exploded. When the cloud from the missile cleared Angeles was still flying with some burns on her skin and clothing to add to the small scratches and cuts from the fight with Alexander. Almost at the same time as the missile there had been an attack on her leg and it was suddenly numb. But what did she care, she was flying. Angeles paid no heed to the sentry units, her focus was on Dagast and destroying that container, however the bullets were getting to be annoying. Dagast didn’t want to believer her. That was fine, he was now only an obstacle to stop the suffering of those who had been changed by the hands of the Shinra Science Department. Her grip on her sword tightened, and without even looking at the sentries sent an all thunder spell at them. She eyed the tank, that was going to be the greatest of her worries for the present time. Without use of her leg, she wouldn’t be able to land for a while, but landing wasn’t in her best interest at the moment. It would be best to use aerial tactics against the tank, the problem though was the armor. Dagast was inside, or he appeared to be, so there wasn’t much she could do about him, and the fissure she made was not so great that the tank could not cross it. She did not have much to work with, leaving behind most everything for favor of speed against Daze, now she was regretting it. She could have really used her grenade right now. Her eyes however then shifted to the mountain beside her. She instantly turned and swung her sword, causing a fissure in the side, hoping that she would trigger a landslide, or at least send large rocks down towards the truck and tank and hamper and progress there. She threw another spell at the mountain face and then turned to see if she had accomplished anything. She needed to get the truck isolated in order to deal with Jenova without any interference, sending it off the mountain, or sending the annoyances over the edge was presently the only way she was going to get the right circumstances to destroy the bitch.

Zander slid the few fragments of the sword he was able to procure of himself into his supply pouch, then pulled out his second Ether and drank it down. His magical reserves filled back up almost entirely, and he allowed a small smile to form as he tightened his hand around the container and crushed it into dust. His eyes followed a blur as it appeared near one of the sword pieces he had not gathered and then slowly down to reveal the silver haired young man that he had told off earlier. He was startled when, a moment later, the other man pulled a Magic Materia out of one of his weapons and tossed it over to him. He caught it, although the force of the throw stung his hand even through the leather glove he was wearing. He turned an inquisitive gaze toward the man, then shrugged and nodded. "Thanks." The SOLDIER slowly stood to his full height and pulled out his naginata, equipping the Restore to it right next to the Steal Materia. He was about to pull out his cell phone to call for a containment team when a nearby Sentry corpse's radio went off. The message was disjointed and filled with static, but he understood enough of it to get by. The convoy that was taking JENOVA back to Junon for transport to Midgar was under attack. "Crap..." Jade eyes surveyed his fellow warriors, some of which seemed a bit injured or otherwise fatigued. He cursed internally as he realized that the silver-haired woman had long since left them. Given her actions during the initial transportation attempt, it was not unlikely that she was behind the attack. But...Reno had seemed as if he knew her, like they were old friends or something. So why...? Shaking such thoughts away, he turned to face Riku and straightened his back, standing at his full posture. He would need to be the leader once more, it seemed. "Alright, the convoy is under attack. Nex, Lini, aerial support if you can manage it. J...I'm sure Shin-ra would be willing to hand out a bit of a reward if their package gets to the intended drop-off point. Flyboy..." Here he gestured to Chris, since he did not know his name. "...see if you can get that plane back in the air. If so, you should probably give J a lift. And Silver..." Here he gestured to Riku. "...to me." He waited until Riku approached, then spoke in a quiet voice that the others would not be able to overhear unless they had Enhanced Hearing. "I am going to need your help for this. I saw you were able to achieve some sort of flight...I need you to carry me up and help me spot the battle, then carry me over and drop me into it. From there, you'll be free to do as you please, whether hat be to join in and help us stop the attacker or to get the hell out of the area. It's up to you. Think you can do it?" As he spoke, Zander slid his naginata back into its harness. If Riku decided to help, then all he would need to do would be to grab onto Zander's harness and take flight.

Once again, Nex managed to save everyone's day by proving there was enough left of the Nine Machine to piece it back together. Chris inspected the reassembled machine, and saw that it was pretty close to full strength. "Nice work, Nex. I'd give you a trophy if I had one, but I don't, so..." Chris then pulled out his wallet and took out two 100-gil bills from it, "Here's two hundred Gil." Chris handed the money to Nex. Chris was pretty sure Nex had plans at least as grand, if not grander, than his. Chris got in to test the machine. Chris activated the simple start-up sequence. The motor started up, and the two gauges showed its status. "Around 80-ish percent integrity...and about zero percent in the tank. That's not going to help out much. Either she HAD to crash-land it like that to get some last use out of it, or the crash evaporated what was there." Chris turned off the machine and hopped out, to gather some of the remains of the sword that hadn't already been picked up. After doing so, he pulled out his Water Materia, then looked at the machine, "I'm pretty sure there's a way to refill it with this...but I don't want to damage my machine trying to find it."

After going back to 'officially' gather up remains of Daze's sword, Riku was prompted to fly Zander over to some kind of happening elsewhere. He didn't know if the Human noticed or not, but he wasn't like Angeles. This fact alone stated that Riku was pretty much screwed over if he wanted to pull spontaneous flight out of his butt. Either way, he had taken quite a bit of damage from the previous cave in as well as Angeles' multiple attacks towards him. Haters "I'll do it, but I don't think I can fly for very long," Riku admitted before activating his 'limit break'. One wing burst from his back, the teen grabbed the human by the harness, and took off with extreme speed into the air. After noticing a point of interest in the distance, Riku blasted off towards that spot. When the twosome finally arrived, Riku would let Zander down at wherever he requested before flying right next to Angeles. He wasn't really sure which side Zander had planned on Riku taking, but he for one wasn't about to go help the people who turned him into a clone in the first place. Besides, from the looks of it, Angeles was all alone facing off an entire entourage of angry mugs. "Looks like you're in a bit of trouble," Riku admitted, "need some help?" Damn, she looks like she's hurt. Maybe I should have chucked that Restore Materia.

Click, click, BOOM!
|
Ian looked up from tending to Serenity's wounds to peek outside and the progress they were making on trying to catch up to Angeles and the package. He was not happy with what he saw. The road was quite literally a total mess. Angeles must have used some kind of spell to break up the road. "Son of a bitch," he groaned. "Son of a frakkin' BITCH!" He kicked the nearby wall separating the cabin with the front end, only to stub his toe from inside his boot. Swearing furiously as he hopped on one foot, he took the seat across from Serenity. This was his nightmare job: a crazy black-winged female laying waste to Shin-Ra soldiers and the surrounding countryside, a critically injured female...just bring in a trio of Moogles and he was ready to walk away. He did not need this kind of crap right now. The JENOVA container was in the hands of fate now. That much was certain. But after a look at Serenity and the agony she was going through, he knew that if he was going to earn any gil at all from this job, he was going to have to get her to Junon and some help as well. "Can you drive through that?" he asked the driver. "Me? I can't drive through this thing!" Ian removed Twilight from its holster and pointed it at the driver's head. "You can, and you will, or I take over." The driver sighed, knowing that Ian had won. "Just arrange me a really nice funeral if we die." "Play your cards right and you may just be getting a bonus." It seemed to stimulate him. "Yes sir!" Without further ado, the driver gunned the truck into the chaos of the road. Ian doubled back into Serenity, removing his jacket and covering her with it before scouting around to find something that could keep her still throughout the journey. "This is really turning out to be a lousy journey..."

MOOGLE AWWWWAAAAYYYY!!!
|
Nex slowly floated over to his machine, signaling for Lini to come get inside or sit on top, whatever worked for him. He then glanced over at the ground, seeing something shiny, and bent down to pick it up. “What kind of material is this?” The Moogle muttered to himself before placing it in a glovebox in the Mooglebot. He was about to get the BOT running forward when he heard the faint noise of a radio, calling for help. “That truck…” Nex said to himself, remembering that what was on it had been the cause of all this. “They need help? From what?” The Moogle leaned back in his chair as Zander began to speak. “Aerial support my ass,” He muttered to himself as the machine started. He was far too low on magical energies to be going off to battle without some backup. Zander kept talking, but the Moogle wasn’t listening. He was about to go again when Chris slipped him two hundred gil, which Nex only stared at for a moment before grinning. “Thanks,” He said calmly, and then slowly pushed the joystick forward. The Machine slowly began to move forward, and then the Moogle began to push the stick farther forward and it was soon going at full speed. The Moogle glanced up at Lini, and then spoke to him. “I don’t like that Zander jackass ordering us around, so when we get to the truck, Lini, can you do me a tiny favor?” The Moogle didn’t talk for a moment, and then grinned. “Can you knock the truck over with a swift punch?” He clicked the fire button a few times on the Mooglebot, and then set it to autopilot moving forward, and flew outside of the machine and loaded the backup ammo pack into the gun. “We aren’t going in without some firepower…”

The mountain side began to sound as rocks fell from their place further and further down the mountain towards the tank and the units trying to carry the container and the executive to the tank. The Sentry units firing at Angeles were taken out with a quick and swift spell, destroying them utterly. Things were beginning to look grim for Shin-Ra's forces, especially now that Riku has decided to aide Angeles in her battle. Things may not bode well for Shin-Ra if this continues. The avalanche covered the entire road below it, encasing the Sentry units and the container in rocks, rubble and mud. JENOVA and the executive were buried under it. Dagast has a chance of escaping if he can manage speeds faster than Angeles can cast. That or he can fight his way through the AVALANCHE and ensure his safety. Hopefully his back-up would arrive soon. He will need it.

Chris watched as pretty much everyone else headed towards the northwest. The only one who hadn't yet left for the chase scene was J. "So...did your mission involve Daze or the container?" Chris asked J while he looked for a way to put 'Water Materia' and 'Water-run engine' together. "Hmm...let's see if this works..." Chris said, putting the Water Materia into where he would pour water in to refill the tank, and decided to give that a shot. He didn't put it in all the way, as he needed it for other purposes, and it wouldn't fit in anyway. Water rushed out of the Materia, filling up the tank somewhat. Chris pulled away the Materia, and checked to see how well it worked. From Chris's eye, he could tell it wasn't very full. Of course, that was why he had gauges. Chris started up his machine again. "Integrity, still 80 percent. Good." Chris said, "Fuel...25 percent. Well, at least I know it works. I'm pretty much down to three spells worth of energy. Still, being able to manipulate an element for purposes other than simply making someone fall down opens up a lot of opportunities in the future. As for now, I can at least continue the mission on one gallon...or just get out of here if I'm no longer needed." Chris decided to wait and see if J still needed a ride.

Angeles looked over at Riku who had flown in a second class Soldier and was now offering to help her. Angeles looked from Riku, to Zander, then back to Riku. It appeared to be that the clone in front of her did not know where his loyalties lied, which was highly irritating as she did not know if she could trust the boy or not. She turned her gaze to the people below her that were falling like flies under Angeles’s onslaught. She appeared to be winning, but first impressions were highly deceiving. She knew she couldn’t win this battle, not with Jenova secured in a canister bolted to the floor of an armored jeep that was now being assaulted by an armored tank and a landslide. Angeles looked over at Riku again, wondering what the boy would do, “I don’t think you want to help me,” she growled under her breath, “continuing on here would be pointless, especially since my directive is to completely destroy Jenova, every last particle of her. Still want to help?” Angeles flapped her wing so there was a little more distance between them and she looked at Riku with stern eyes. “You wanted answers. I have answers. The question is, will you believe the answers, or will you continue on in your daze following the whispering voice of Sephiroth believing everything I told you was a lie? This is the most likely answer. So it is not actually a question of do I want your help, but more of a question like, do you want me to help you?” she looked deep into Riku’s eyes, as if looking into his soul, waiting for the emotion within them to give her warning of whether he would attack, or accept. |

Nex kept his eyes on the road, avoiding bits and pieces of road damage as he went, even making the MOOGELBOT do a little jump over a few things as he made his way towards the truck. After awhile, he was the truck in the distance and nodded. “Lini…remember what I need you to do, okay? I want you to knock that truck over…and if we’re feeling bold, we’ll steal whatever the hell is in there, too. It looked pretty cool back in the cave,” As the machine got closer, Nex noticed two prominent figures flying. Riku, and that other woman that he had seen earlier. He wondered what was going on, and then he noticed that the truck was driving in a bit of a hasty manner. However, a moment later, a huge avalanche took the truck out. The robot came to a halt and Nex glanced over at Lini. “We won’t be doing any knocking today,” and then pushed the machine forward towards Riku. The Moogle was a bit confused on what to do at the current moment, so he glanced up at Lini and said, “I have no idea what to do, do you?”

Click, click, BOOM!

Five minutes later, Ian was regretting his decision to head into the thick of the ruined road. He was getting tossed around like a toad in a bucket, and he hadn't exactly found anything to restrain Serenity in order to avoid aggravating her wounds any further, and already he had hit his head about three times on the bar above him. Bonk. "MOTHER OF-!" Actually, make it four times. And his search was pretty much fruitless. So instead of hanging around back there, he went back into the truck's front, asking, "How we coming?" Bonk. Ian didn't say anything, instead he gave cross between a growl and scream of anger that sounded something like a medley of swear words at the roof of the truck all in one go. "We're going pretty slow, but that's only so I can avoid breaking the axel of this thing," the driver said. "'cause trust me, I know this one guy who did that coming up the dirt road to North Corel...ooh, boy. Nothing funny about that." Ian almost thought for a moment he was referring to himself why not mentioning himself. But before he could inquire... Bonk. "GAAAH! ARE WE THERE YET!?" he screamed, almost wanting to rip the ceiling out above him or put a few holes in it. "Almost..." the driver said, gunning the engine a little further. "Okay, that's it there...why's it stopped? That black-winged bitch is still at it...oh, god dammit, it looks like she's got help, too!" Ian bent forward, trying to pick them out. Yup, there were two of them now. As to why it had stopped, it looked like there was a landslide a few minutes ago. Probably the same thing that had caused the road's destruction, too. His eyes narrowed. "Alright, here's the plan. Leave the truck here, take my friend in the back and get her out of here to somewhere safe. Take care of her, she's still badly hurt, I've been treating her as best I can with what I've been given. I'll try to keep their attention off of JENOVA," Ian said. "Just you?" asked the driver. "Somebody must have heard the emergency transmission the driver sent out. I'm just playing defensively until they show up." "If anyone did hear us." "Hey, buddy, I'm the guy with the guns here. You just give me ten minutes and I'll have those two's heads on a platter." "...okay, fine." Immediately, the truck ground to a halt on a thirty degree angle, and the driver got out to go into the back to pick up Serenity. Meanwhile, Ian headed out the back, checking his ammo stores. He had eight in reserves, plus the two bullets in each gun. Not exactly the best of circumstances. He climbed up anyway, back onto the roof of the truck like before, taking careful aim at the two people outside the truck... BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG. No mercy this time. Ian was playing for keeps now. After emptying both clips, he swung off the back to reload.

Riku could feel his wings start to vanish into thin air, so he decided to answer Angeles before his flight was disrupted. “I’m not sure why you’re so serious. I am just offering my undivided help towards whatever you want to do. If you want to get that Jenova container, then by Jenova I’ll do everything I can to help. Consider this payback for almost fighting against you from earlier.” The teen paused for a couple seconds then continued, "my skills are running, running, running, and oh yea, running." Looking over to see Nex’s super robot flying closer, he added, “Heck, the pilots of that robot might even help you. If I know that Moogle, randomness is a virtue. Anyways, I’m not like you. My wings are already gone, so I’m just going to… FALL!!!” After yelling his last words, the teen fell to the ground before looking back up at Angeles. If she was going to tell him to do anything, she might as well do it before something of highly epic proportions happened. Not that many things could live up to that name after pondering upon the day’s various happenings. If Angeles denied his help, he would merely jump onto Nex’s robot and hitch a ride with them. However if he was needed, he would do everything he could to help. Sigh, why did I have to answer Sephiroth’s call? Man, sometimes I wish I could talk to him one on one like Daze was doing. That would be bad ass epic. |

Ikorose, Shinsou
|
It was like a blast zone, almost everything reduced to rubble before the eyes of the young SOLDIER. As usual, he had arrived way late to the party because of the time he spent in self pity. Kyosuke had made a selfish promise to himself to never allow another person to be injured by any of his actions, or lack there of, but now it seemed he had already broken his vow. Before him were a lot of people, some old friend while others he had never met, all of which were fighting one another in sometime of battle royal for god knows why. "Ha, ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha ha!," the young SOLDIER began to laugh to himself as the battle raged on. Blood and bodies were everywhere of which he was able to make no attempt in helping, despite the fact that he probably would have never been able to do anything in the first place. Tears began running down from his face, closing his eyes in anger while clenching his teeth. When they opened, they were as they had only been once before. The eyes of the red dragon, weak as they were, had been released due to the anguish he felt inside. The next thing he knew Kyosuke found himself running to the area he believed to be the center of the action, a place covered in rocks, rubble and mud. It was then that the young SOLDIER then came to a halt as he reached his destination and took glances at who he assumed to be Lini, Nex, Angeles, and a transformed Zander. Dropping to his knees, Kyo raised his head towards the sky, his hands shortly following. "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!?," he then yelled at the top of his lungs, loud enough that anyone who wanted to hear it could. Turning his head back down towards the rubble in front of him, the young SOLDIER observed what looked like what was an arm to him. Kyosuke then frantically began digging in the rocks as to see if anyone was possibly alive and trapped underneath it. It was a foolish endeavor, one of which that would probably never bear any fruits of labor, but in his erratic state it was but all he could do. What would become of the situation was unknown to Kyo as he had just arrived but he may, chances more likely leaning to not, have just gotten involved into something that he shouldn't have.

Apocalypse (Lv4)
|
"I suggest you back off now..." a calm voice said, coming from behind Riku. As if he had appeared from nowhere, a man in a black suit with slicked back black hair stood behind Riku. Glasses reflected light from the metal frames around the glass, with deep dark blue, eyes behind them. "You are officially out of your league," the man finished as he pushed the hilt of his katana up out of the sheath so that the blade was now showing. Anyone who was well educated with Shin-Ra and who they send on missions would recognize this man as a Turk. He wasn't just any Turk though, he was one of the Turks that has been fighting Avalanche for the past few years now. His name is Adrian, although some call him Katana due to the weapon he uses. Adrian was a very powerful man, one of the strongest amongst the Turks. He was enlisted in the Turks straight from prison due to his actions in his homeland before hand. He was... not one to fool around or waste time. "Angeles," Adrian said, not looking up to her. "I have no orders in taking prisoners or showing mercy today," Adrian finished, keeping his eyes fixated on Riku. Adrian fell silent after this, knowing what he would have to do if they continued to resist. Adrian was not one to hold back, especially when a mission was as important as this. Behind Adrian was a team of Sentry units moving rocks from the avalanche Angeles caused moments ago. They had come in on another vehicle that could be seen a few yards away from the Avalanche further up the road.

The White Mage
|
Zander had been dropped off nearby on what seemed to be relatively stable ground. After getting his bearings, he grabbed onto his naginata and made to draw it when his carrier suddenly flew over to offer assistance to the silver haired woman. The familiar annoyance bubbled up within him and he fought to control himself as the impulse to pummel the traitorous male clone into a gooey bloody paste became almost too strong to handle. He was saved from the paperwork such an action would entail, however, as two things happened fairly quickly. First, a robot containing Nex and probably Lini as well came around a bend in the road, followed shortly thereafter by the overly dramatic Kyosuke. "...idiot." Luckily, Zander was not forced to step in and lay down some harsh justice. The Turk known to many as either Katana or Adrian appeared, along with a large group of Sentry units. The latter quickly went to work with moving the stones and pile of earth, while the former laid down an ultimatum to Riku and Angeles. The SOLDIER watched silently, his right hand still on the hilt of his weapon in the event that it came down to a battle. This needed to end, and it needed to end now. Whether it came down to him doing it or Adrian doing it would be up to their opponents. The young Rockport shifted his gaze over to meet the Turk's, and he gave him a solemn nod as an indicator that he would lend aid if necessary.

(J’s Post) The explosion caused when J crashed the flying machine into her opponent’s body was quite spectacular. It seemed like the crash combined with the destruction of the staffs around him was all that the target could take. Even if he wasn’t dead, Aleczander finished the job and slit his throat after one of the Moogles robbed his corpse. It did seem like there was some need for support further down the mountain, but that wasn’t the reason why she was here. She was here to ensure that the target she had been informed about did not get away with the container. Since he was pretty obviously dead now, her work was over. Aleczander had already left before J could tell him that she didn’t take orders from people like him, a move that probably worked to his benefit. The owner of the crashed machine was able to get it mostly repaired through some of his own work and Nex’s magic. Apparently, Nex had found another one of his kind to join up with him. That was going to make things annoying when they ended up together again. J knew it wasn’t a matter of if, but a matter of when. It was always a matter of ‘when’ when Nex was involved. “My job here is done,” J said, saying nothing more about it, “You can go if you want, but I’m done here.” As several of the others went their own way to the other event, J loaded her grappling hook and fired it to the top of a cliff. It grabbed a sturdy rock, and J pulled her way to the top of the cliff. “That takes care of that then.” J thought, before she continued on to her next job.
(Lini’s post) Nex had decided that they were going to find out what sort of other thing was going on this mountain. Lini was excited for that. Crossing this mountain wasn’t anywhere as exciting as this when Lini crossed it a few months ago. However, they were going to do it because they wanted to, and not because some guy told them to do it. Lini grabbed onto his position on the MOOGLEBOT as Nex piloted it towards their destination. When they got there, Nex wanted Lini to knock over a truck. It was an odd request, to say the least. Lini didn’t think he was strong enough to do something like that. But, if it would further the cause of the Mog Squad, then he would try his best. When the two Moogles finally got there, however, the truck in question had gotten buried by an avalanche the moment they arrived. Well, that was going to stop Lini’s attempt at even trying to knock over something, and Nex realized it too. With that plan defeated and canceled, Nex was out of ideas. “Well,” Lini said, “I think everything is almost done, so I don’t think we need to be here anymore.” Lini was silent for a few more seconds when he chimed in with his suggestion. “Hey,” Lini said, “Why do we go see a movie? There’s got to be a few good things playing, and even if there isn’t, then we can make fun of it.”

Doesn't particularly like the Art of Fighting, but definitely wants to be the King of Fighters.

"Nah. I'm done as well." Chris said as J left the scene, "I don't think anyone important is left around here that isn't being dealt with by someone else." Chris then checked the area once more before heading back to his machine, "I think that's enough action for one day." Chris poured pretty much the remainder of his Magic energy into filling up his machine's tank. "I should get myself better-prepared for things like this." Chris said to himself as he started up the machine, "But for now, I don't think I'll need to do anything different from what I had planned." Chris then headed over to Costa Del Sol, flying over the chaotic scene that the rest of the group was led to. "Geez...you'd think that if Shin-Ra would seal something this tightly, it would be wise to leave it alone." Chris said as he looked down at the scene, "But nooooo, someone's twisted sense of justice or faith would have him or her tamper with it, either to claim the contents for himself, or to destroy it. Given what it did to Daze, I'd say that pretty much anyone would be out of his or her league trying to deal with that thing. However...I never got a chance to see what it was. Good thing, too. I'd probably be a target for knowing something like that." Chris then went full speed ahead to the beach town to get himself a well-earned rest.

Seal Evil
|
Blood trickled down a wounded body, scars layered the body and yet as the SOLDIER laid there, many people garnered the feeling of resentment. This situation turned from a chore to an order to a vast difference between life and death. Anger or hate, justice or evil. The SOLDIER that had dedicated himself to a cause was seemingly pushed far back by the avalanche, even as he thought to himself now rocks continued to fall down. Dagast opened his eyes as the countless rocks began to burn away. He had a firm grip on his blade as the heated blade began to go p to higher temperatures and burn away into literally nothing. His aptitude for fire was getting more impressive but this only effect rocks small as pebbles. The harder and bigger ones Dagast broke and shoved to the side as he scratched and climbed to the top. He didn’t know where he was but all he could remember was the white hair and the angelic wing that he had sprouted from her back. As he neared the surface or so he thought he heard mumbles as people were standing above him. How long was he down there for? Sticking a his blade through the ground Dagast began to pump out magical energy into his blade to further augment the fire heated blade to crumble the roof above him. He stuck his arm out as it was covered in blood and scars the whole way. His glove was half torn off but the gauntlet styled after the folklore of Ifrit was still intact. It covered a lot of his forearm and hand damage which thankfully was needed to him. He pushed his other hand up as the ground cracked to expose another bronze gauntlet with red after the god of fire Ifrit. Sticking his head through the clumped dirt, Dagast eyes looked all around but also seemed to backtrack to Angeles. He was put through a lot today. It was expected of him to do a lot as a 2nd Class SOLDIER but this was beyond that. His viewpoint was beyond that of a mission, it was at the stake of his life right now. He stood erect as his body was mangled and scarred but he was standing and very firmly. Dagast noticed a new figure appeared. He seemed to be a TURK and had sentry units with him. They were digging or trying to dig something out the ground; possibly JENOVA. The whole while Dagast stared at Angeles. His expression was not one of anger or annoyance but the blankest stare one could be given as if he was looking through her.

Ian was curious to the fact that he hadn't recieved any return fire or Angeles was already attempting to tip over the truck he was hiding behind as he split his remaining eight bullets between Twilight and Daybreak. Still, he was probably banking on the fact that she was probably behind the truck ready to push it down on him at any minute. Sliding the first bullets into their chambers, Ian swung out from behind again, guns pointing. More of them. And Ian could tell that this time, he was severely outclassed. But considering the fact that the lead one was a Turk with a katana and that he looked no fool with it, Ian felt it was okay to stand down for now, so he put away the two guns, slowly coming out of hiding. Loca in ferma ni nocte... Loca in ferma ni nocte... Animae nebula... Mitternacht! Media nox obscura nox Rudititas son nibaron Compana sonat Duo diceis... Mitternacht! Ian's cell phone. Some way to ruin the mood. He flipped the thing open. "Havenwing." "Hey, uh...dude. Is it okay to come out? I don't hear anything going on." "Yeah, it's okay, the fighting's mostly over for now. Bring out our friend, too, and try not to move her around too much. We'll be back on the road once our new friends sort it out." The line went dead. This time, Ian put it on vibrate again, jamming it back into his jacket before focusing on the situation. The driver was okay, a SOLDIER by the look of things. He looked behind him to see the driver carrying the wounded Serenity over. "I swear, this is my nightmare job..." he said tiredly, massaging the bridge of his nose.

Apocalypse (Lv4)

"I will take your silence as your withdrawal," Adrian said as he turned his back to the two, walking towards the rubble to ensure the container was excavated from the avalanche successfully. The Sentry units were getting the large metal container out at a rapid pace, each one making a strange grunting noise as they lifted the container out of the rubble after they cleared a path and moved the rubble out of the way. "Load the container in it's transport and head to Coast Del Sol," Adrian said as he followed them in a walking manner, as if he had no need to rush himself. "Reno and Rude should be there to intercept it," Adrian said before he stopped in his tracks to look back at the rest of the Shin-Ra units. "Your next orders are... to rest. Head to HQ or head to your homes. You can fill reports out later," Adrian said, turning back around to head out with the Sentry units. Around the road were dead bodies from Angeles' attack, shells from bullets and blood. The blood mainly was from Dagast and Angeles herself, but there was a lot of it. Many members of Shin-Ra might have mixed feelings about the events that happened during this mission... some may no longer trust Shin-Ra anymore. But few of those will desert Shin-Ra, for they know that if they did, they would be hunted down without mercy. They would be announced as if they were killed in action and would be shot at on site.

Ian gave a sigh of relief. It was over. At least now he may be able to return to Midgar with a bit of extra gil in hand. Or maybe he could explore Costa del Sol, because he didn't have a chance to actually explore before setting off on this hellish job. At least now he'd be able to get off the mountain and maybe have the whole day to himself in order to enjoy the sun and sand. Something in his jacket vibrated. His cell phone again. He flipped it open. "Havenwing." "I'm calling about your progress with the package." "You should've asked earlier. Heaven forbid I wouldn't be attacked by another one of those guys like the one on the mountain. That's 4% interest in addition to the 10 already." "But is the package still safe?" "Oh, yeah, it's fine," Ian said. "Some Turk with a katana's taking over the operation. You should have that thing in Junon by sundown." "Very well. As of right now, your mission is complete. We will send you the money as soon as we recieve the package in Junon." He hung up. Ian sighed. Where to next? "Well...nothing for me to do now, except see what there is to at Costa del Sol..." And with that, Ian motioned to the driver with Serenity and hopped onto the truck heading down the road, looking behind him as they went on their way. There were still bodies of dead SOLDIERs all over the place. He shook his head. He wouldn't want to be any of the guys cleaning up that mess. But in the end, it didn't even matter. Ian was just another merc. Like another brick in the goddamn wall. He closed his eyes, settling for the long trip back to the coast. Costa del Sol should be pretty, and the girls as well...or this trip was way more trouble than it was worth.

Ex-Turk
|
Angeles looked down at Adrian as he spoke and was almost instantly subdued. All will to fight left with the thought ‘my Turk.’ She wouldn’t fight him. She landed, faltering slightly as her leg was still numb. She looked around at the destruction she caused, then looked over at Adrian. “You don’t understand,” she whispered, looking over at the truck and tank, her eyes catching on Dagast for a moment, “none of you understand. The longer she lives, the more havoc will be coming your way. We will not survive.” Angeles looked at the ground, watching as the fighting ceased almost instantly and people began to move out. Angeles flapped her wing and flew over to the truck, aware in case anyone was going to shoot her thinking she was still going after the Jenova container. She buried into the truck and came out of the rocks carrying the body of the sentry, holding the picture in her hand. She sighed as she laid the man down on the ground and went back in for the only survivor in the truck, pulling him out and setting him on the ground as well. She looked over at Dagast, touching her restore materia and healing him, “I’m not the villain,” she said, flapping her wing and lifting up into the air, hovering above the ground for a moment, “but I’m definitely not the hero.” Angeles looked at the picture in her hand of the young girl, then put it in her pocket and turned skyward, flying up and out of sight, leaving behind a few feathers floating down to the ground.
