Jerric breathed in heavily and let the air escape in a profound sigh. It felt good to be breathing fresh are; to be out of the gloom and pollution of Midgar. He wondered how Ria felt now, as he knew she had never been out of the city before. He hoped it wasn't too much of a shock for her. "Ah... The trees are more beautiful than I remember." He stopped and reached up to touch one. It had a familiar texture, a pleasant roughness. "Do you like them?" He asked Ria. "The trees, I mean. I know there aren't many in Midgar." He sighed again before bringing his hand down.

They continued their pace down the worn, dusty path. It must have been somewhere around six or seven in the morning, but they had had no need for rest during the trip. The sun had already broken the horizon, but only barely, casting its early-morning gray light over the world. The two traversed a small hill, and on the other side was Kalm. "Here we are..." Jerric said softly. "Home... For both of us." Suddenly eager, he jogged down the hill. Slowing and turning around to face Ria, he saw her hesitate. "Don't worry! Everything is good!"

Turning back around, he began to run into the village that he called his own.

Ria didn't reply as Jerric asked her about the trees. he was right she hadn't seen trees before, or grass, or above the plate.....or almost anything she saw right now. It was amazing, she was speechless for a few minutes more as they walked over the hill that separated them from Kalm. She was still dressed her dark tank top and cargo pants under her cloaked jacket, the clothes she'd been wearing when she fell in the reactor. However because of the warm weather she kept her arms out of the sleeves on the jacket. The landscape fascinated her as they walked and she loved the fresh air.

After another few minutes they had reached the top of the hill and she stared down wide eyed at Kalm, it was so different from Midgar.......were most towns like this? It was easy for Jerric to mistake her amazement for hesitation however his words confused her a bit, not that that was odd recently. She seemed to be confused quite a bit the past few days."Home......?" she said questioningly slightly confused. She looked slightly embarrassed as he said it though she wasn't sure why, she wasn't really sure of anything anymore.

She removed her cloak as they neared the outside of and covered her sword in it before slipping back into the blades harness. She was apparently going to be staying around here a while and when people saw her carrying her sword they tended to remember it. That usually wasn't a good thing."So.....what's Kalm like?" She asked some of her awe dying down and her curiosity rising again. She couldn't properly understand what she was feeling now but she knew two of the rampant emotions she had at the moment. Excitement and nervousness. She continued walking with Jerric as she waited for him to lead......

Angeles looked over as she heard some noises and saw two people approaching. Her green eyes were calm and exhausted, she was sitting down against the entryway to the city with her back to the wall and one leg bent with the other crossed under it as if she had made it that far but could go on no longer. Her clothing looked dusty and bloody, her silver hair was disheveled, and her skin was marred with scratches here and there.

Two people were heading her way, and one was bright and filled with life, the other seemed struck by awe. Angeles smiled at the sight of these two creatures that came nearer, the girl hiding her sword and she was reminded on her own latched to her back under her coat so that only the hilt was showing. She moved an arm to rest on her upraised knee and waited for the people to approach.

She would not stop them. No, she just wanted to watch. These creatures made her happy that they were alive. The hell she had just gone through was worth every breath that they took. A sigh escaped from Angeles without her permission but she let it, watching the young humans approach and she smiled in an almost motherly fashion.

Slowing down, he felt guilty for dragging Ria along in such a way. "Well... Kalm is... Well... Calm." He laughed at the connection. "It really is a peaceful place, and no one cares when there is a little racket from someone training or messing around." He stopped to let Ria catch up a little. "I think you will like it. Everyone is kind. Even to strangers.

For some reason, he felt like he was being watched. He shoved the thought out of his mind, excusing it as fear that someone from SOLDIER would be looking. He knew that they wouldn't until at least noon the next day, however. Enough to get a resignation to SOLDIER. When he turned back and faced Kalm again, he thought he saw something out of the corner of his eye. He was serious, suddenly. He had seen something similar before... In his first mission for Shin-Ra... A Sephiroth clone? Perhaps, perhaps not.

Then, he saw her. Bruised and bleeding. A clone... He tried to remember where he had seen her before; he was sure he had. He banished the though. "Look, Ria! Someone's hurt!" He hesitated, however, waiting to see if Ria would be brave enough to go and help the clone.

Angeles couldn't know how wrong she was in her assumption both she and Jerric were human, though she would probably figure it out eventually. As they entered the city Ria saw Angeles and froze. She looked very familiar, Ria had seen people like her in the lab, they had the same silver hair and cat like eyes. She froze transfixed on Angeles for a moment before Jerric's voice reached her and then she rushed forward towards her, she felt a strange empathy for the woman as she was sure Shinra had caused this somehow.

"are you okay?"She asked Angeles her expression concerned as she looked the woman over " What happened......?" She asked as she continued to look her over. The woman didn't seem to have any major wounds on her now but Ria didn't like the bloodstains on the clothes. She also noticed the hilt of the womans sword protruding. This sent a shiver through her as she wondered idly if she was with Shinra, She dismissed the thought though and continued looking her over.

"I think you're ok....?"She said slightly more relaxed after several more moment, she continued to stare though. She had so many questions for her. Had Shinra made her as well? what had they done? why were they doing this to people? How had she been injured? "Can we take her to your house? i don't thin we should leave her here. " she told Jerric . Then she leaned over Angeles and spoke quietly to Angeles so Jerric couldn't hear her question "Did they make you too......?" She asked looking into the womans cat like pupils, she waited for an answer.......

Angeles looked at the boy that approached and smiled a little bit more, he was familiar, though she didn’t know where from. His concern for her was touching but she wasn’t injured though some of the blood was indeed hers, most of it however was not. Then the girl ran up. Angeles looked at her as she got down to her level and bean checking her over and asking questions. Angeles felt so light. She closed her eyes and laughed slightly, then leaned forward to the girl and whispered, “I am so glad you’re alive.”

She then gently wrapped her arms around the girl and held her close. She could sense Jenova in her, and in the boy as well, “yes, they made us,” Angeles whispered then released the girl then stood up, using the wall for support. She sighed and rubbed her eyes on her sleeve and looked out at the direction the two had come from. She guessed that Midgar was where they were heading from and then turned and looked inside the town. Several people were already in the streets, some giving her wary looks as if telling her to remain outside.

She looked down at the two, then extended a hand to help the girl up, “my name is Angeles. What are yours’?”

Jerric was, at first, fairly suspicious of the clone. Angeles... Where have I heard that name before? Aside from that, there didn't seem to be anything wrong with her. After seeing Ria's reaction, Jerric decided that it would be alright to approach the clone. He was ready, in the event of an incident, however. He hoped it wouldn't come to that. He hadn't come to his hometown to find bloodshed and destruction...

"My name is Jerric," he said, reaching a hand out to help the woman up. "She and I," he said, motioning to Ria, "Were just heading to my house. It doesn't appear that you need medical assistance of any sort, but my aunt would be glad to supply you with new clothing. If you want... you may come with us." He knew that this clone, whoever she was, could do whatever she wanted anyways. It didn't matter if Jerric invited her or not. He decided to give Ria and Angeles a couple seconds to talk on their own. He plopped down against a comfortable-looking tree and began messing around with a few leaves on the ground. He would be ready to go when they were.

Ria was confused at Angeles's behavior yo say the least. She looked at Angeles in confusion as the woman said she was glad she was alive and stiffened as Angeles wrapped her arms around her, Her fear of being restrained had apparently survived her change because she didn't move until Angeles released her.Despite Angeles's lack of wounds Ria didn't think she was quite ok though, she seemed exhausted at the very least . She looked up as the woman stood , she was only a few inches taller than Ria but other than that they were nothing alike. "i'm Ria....." She said slightly shyly as Angeles exteneded her hand.

Ria thought for a moment and took the hand out of politeness.
She found herself staring at Angeles again after she was standing though. The familiarity wasn't somethin she was used to, even if she'd never met Angeles herself she'd seen other clones fairly frequently in the labs. Angeles had said Shinra had also made her, though she'd answered indirectly. She noticed that Jerric seemed to recognize Angeles for what she was too. She was suspiscious of him for that , normally only the more regareded second class and first class SOLDIER's knew about the clones. What had he been doing to learn of them? And was he aware she was also a clone? She'd only told him Shinra had made her, not what they had made her.......

Ria started to feel nervous as she realized she knew nothing of life here outside the labs or at the very least the city, she was almost completely dependant on Jerric now.Even with her new body she was only a child, something that didn't seem to really bother Jerric. She started to doubt the decision she'd made in Midgar, but hid it well behind the artificial calm she experienced after being exposed to Mako. Her child like mind wasn't used to this kind of stress and she would have broken down if she wasn't more concerned about Angeles than herself now. As it was her calm mask slipped and she frowned as she turned to Jerric."So where are we going........?" She asked him quietly as she tried to stop her rampant thoughts.......................

“Ria, Jerric,” Angeles smiled shaking both of their hands, “I appreciate you hospitality, but, it is not necessary. I am not terribly injured, I just need to rest and… wash my clothes,” Angeles looked down at herself. If her clothing had not been black, it would have been red, but the dried blood was sticking her clothing to her skin which was annoying. She hummed in thought then removed her coat, the blood making a soft crackling noise as it broke as the coat peeled away from the skin. Her pale flesh was covered in the nearly black blood and did some to hide the scars there.

She looked at the two then at her arms and tried to brush the blood off, succeeding only slightly, “I’ll find a river later. What are you two doing here, if I may ask?”

Jerric looked at the two. Then he swept away the hair that had sifted back into his vision. "Well, it is your choice, like I said. As for the two of us... We are just heading to my home here in Kalm." Jerric was reluctant to give too much information to Angeles. Suddenly, he came to the realization that Angeles may not just be here randomly. She hadn't let on that she knew he was in SOLDIER, even though he was still wearing the uniform. It may have been that the jacket covered and gave shadow to Jerric's torso. The light was still rather dim this morning, which may also to have helped.

"So... If you don't mind me asking... What are you doing here? And how did you get so covered in blood?"

Ria's eyes went wide at the site of the blood that covered Angeles ad she found herself unable to look away from the layers of dried blood. Her mind was blank as Angeles asked what she was doing there."I Don't know how to explain......"She said not hearing Jerrics vague response "I'm here to.......recover I guess........" She said quietly. She rocked slightly as she started feeling dizzy, she'd seen blood before why was she acting like this now? The most likely answers were obvious. She had never dealt with blood like this before and after her change everything seemed more potent to her. As the wind blew she caught a wiff of the smell coming off Angeles and sank to her knees with a hand over her mouth as she felt like she was going to be sick.

She managed to keep her stomach under control for a moment and breathed through her mouth until the nausea passed and pushed her self to her feet slightly unsteadily. Being sick was something she had become very used to , a lot of experiments had made her get sick and she'd always hated them. That apparently hadn't changed either. After a moment she looked batter other than the fact she was still paler than normal. After that all her anticipation and excitement she'd started the day with was gone. now she wanted to curl up into a ball and go to sleep.

For a moment she wished she was back at Jessie's house like she had been a few says ago, that was the only safe place she'd ever known. For the first time since the change she felt a sudden urge of anger. Why did that have to have happened? Why hadn't that damn SOLDIER minded his own damn business instead of attracting the Sentry to her presence by chasing her? Why did she feel so lost right now? Why didn't she know what to do? She put her hands on either side of her head as confusion overwhelmed, if it wasn't for her long black hair she might look like a Sephiroth clone. As it was she stood still pale clutching her head tightly the muscles in her arms visibly flexing.....................

Angeles looked at the boy and couldn’t help but smirk. A demanding nature was almost always with Soldier personalities. She then looked at the girl who was rocking slightly and Angeles took a step forward towards her, then got onto her knees as the girl did with a hand resting on her shoulder wondering what was wrong. She took out her Restore materia just in case but in no time at all the girl stood up as if she was fine.

Angeles reluctantly put her materia back into her pocket then looked at the Soldier again, “Kalm is my home also,” that was all she said about the city that had rejected her, all save Tony, she then smirked at the Soldier and touched the Shinra logo hanging off of her ear and continued, “and don’t think you can go bossing me around. I’m an Ex-Turk--.”

Angeles stopped when the girl suddenly held her head. She went over to her again and gently rested her hands on her shoulders. She bent to try to get a look at the girl’s face. She didn’t look like a Sephiroth clone, but it was possible she was still a clone. She remembered Lizo, who was in Kalm somewhere at that moment, who was a copy of Genesis. When she finally was able to get a look Angeles sighed and shook her head, rubbing the girl’s shoulder soothingly, “Angeal.”

Jerric saw the smirk and knew it for what it was. She knows I'm in SOLDIER... But I won't be in just a few hours... However, it came as a shock to Jerric when Angeles revealed that she had once been a Turk... His face wrinkled in confusion. Then, Ria bent down and held her head in her hands. He saw her flexing her arms, and became alarmed... "What did you do?!" He yelled at the clone, jumping up. His heart pounding hard, he approached to two warily, carefully. He wasn't sure if meeting this Angeles was such a good idea...

He heard what Angeles whispered, or at least picked up enough to know what she had said... "Angeal..." Angeal... Why would she say that? Jerric didn't know anything about how Angeal was also cloned... He thought that only Sephiroth was cloned... All he knew was that Angeal had been a first class SOLDIER... One of the best.

Jerric walked over to Ria's side, ready to react in case she decided that she should attack him. He placed his hand gently on her arm. Leaning down, he whispered into her ear, "What's wrong?... Why did Angeles say Angeal?... Please... Let me in... I only want to help you... What's wrong?"

Ria jerked back as Angeles and Jerric both tried to calm her, her eyes wide. After a moment she blinked and looked at the ground nervously as she considered what both of them had said and she gave a pained expression as she looked at the ground. She wanted to explain to Jerric, but Angeles probably knew vaguely what was happening and she didn't want to seem like she was whining, but she was so confused.....After a moment she concentrated and started speaking" I'm....Not human. I'm a copy of Angeal, Shinra made him into a monster........they made me a monster to.........I already told you I grew up in a lab, what it was like, the guards, the scientists...........They got attacked about five months ago, i escaped and ran to Midgar.I hid for awhile, Then i met a SOLDIER who wanted to "Save" me...."

"He accidentally got me involved in a fight with some Sentry, I ran again i hid in a Mako reactor facility." She was said her voice trembling slightly. She was telling the story so neither Angeles or Jerric would be in the dark. "I was scared, Jerric found me and i attacked him. He accidentally knocked me into the Mako reactor. Something........Strange happened. My body changed, Jerric asked if I wanted to go with him. I didn't have any other place I could go and he seemed sorry for knocking me into the mako so i said yes.........."She said her voice very small and child like. how would they react? How would she react when she finally came to terms with this? She didn't know, that only scared her more.

"This is.....So confusing,it's scary." She said her eyes filming over before she blinked back her tears." I'm only eleven, I shouldn't be like this yet.....I should be like this at all!!!" She said gritting her teeth and clenching her fist making the knuckles pop. Her anger faded as quickly as it came and she looked down at the ground."It's so confusing, i'm not used to feeling any of this, everything seems different now...." She said not worrying about seeming weak anymore the words flowed from her mouth. She was afraid, she felt helpless, She was helpless. Realizing that only made her more afraid. She looked at the ground making her hair fall into her face as tears silently streamed down her face........

Angeles was silent as she listened to the girl speak. She was younger than she thought and the realization that the girl was only eleven felt like a knife through her heart. The Soldier screaming at her in accusation really didn’t help anything. Angeles backed away from the girl then looked up at the sky running a hand through her hair.

“Scientists, are truly monsters. Perverting nature just to make a name for themselves,” Angeles let her hand fall to her side and she looked at he Soldier, “I know you want to take her to your house and everything, but do you think that perhaps we could stop by the tea shop first? It would be good for her to calm down.”

Angeles then looked at the girl and touched her shoulder, “do you want to have some tea Ria-chan?”

Jerric dropped his hands to his sides and shut up. He looked accusingly and sadly at Angeles, then twisted in on himself for being part of the cause of this pain to Ria...

Eleven years old... Jerric though as he stumbled back, shocked completely and utterly to the core by Ria's words. In his own shock at what had happened, his mind had blocked out everything that didn't make sense until that moment. The blow was incredible. Almost literally so. In pain, Jerric stumbled back again, clutching his head, immersed in a pain that wasn't real, but was still painful. The confusion twisted his mind; his thoughts flowed together and congealed painfully into a twisted mass of painful confusion.

He stumbled back again, into a tree. It knocked a small amount of sense back into him, and everything began to numb over again. Sinking down, he looked up at the sky. His eyes didn't register anything that they took in. Everything seemed a gray mass. Then, dropping his head down, his hair fell in front of his eyes, blocking the two other's view of his face. "Tea..." He said, barely registering the words that had been spoken. "Would be nice..."

Ria flinched as Angeles put her hand on her shoulder but didn't shy away from it,instead she leaned towards Angeles she continued silently crying."Yes...."She said in a small voice as Angeles asked her if she would like some Tea. She wasn't thirsty, she didn't even know if she liked tea but she didn't know what else to say. She was still so confused about what she was feeling, but as Jerric began to thrash around she felt a surge of depression roll through her and she almost had another breakdown and sniffed as a new wave of tears streamed down her face.

For some reason Angeles's hand on her shoulder was comforting even though she usually hated being touched. It wasn't enough to get past the anguish she felt now. Why did she care so much what Jerric thought, or why he had reacted that way? She wasn't even sure he wasn't working for Shinra....at least, She hadn't before now, Now she thought he was honest, why else would he react like that? She couldn't be sure, she couldn't trust her own emotions, this body.....She couldn't trust herself. The only thing she could be sure of was her own fear.

She had a lot to be afraid of. What was going to happen to her now? Would she keep changing further into a monster? Would Shinra kill her? Why had Jerric cared what happened to her? Why did Angeles's touch make her fear safe when everyone else caused her to freeze with fear..........Why had this been done to her......? What had been done to her......? She didn't know, she didn't want to know. She just wanted to sleep, to make everything go away.So she did, in a sense anyway.

Her body swayed lightly as her eyes seemed to empty, her tears stopped and she stared straight ahead. She was still awake, but she'd. done the thing she'd used in the lab to stay sane unlike so many other experiments. She locked away all of her personality and hid her confusion and pain with it. It was cowardly, she didn't like it but she'd do anything to escape the pain even if it was only temporary, She stared ahead vaguely still leaning towards Angeles her eyes cold and unseeing.........

Angeles watched both of the people closely and closed her eyes briefly. They reacted strangely, but eventually both accepted the offer for tea. Angeles took the girl by the shoulder as she was leaning towards her, then gripped it and jerked it hard, not enough to hurt her but enough to snap her out of the mode she had gone into.

“Angeal was a great man. An honorable man,” Angeles said almost sternly, “not a monster, and neither are you. Do you understand? Do not shut yourself up from this world simply because you don’t want to face it. Honor and dreams were the most important thing to that man before he died to protect the world from himself,” Angeles took Ria’s chin in her fingers and made the girl look her in the eyes, “do not be afraid of this world that has been laid out before you. Find your place in it, and live you will to the fullest, let no one take it from you, even yourself.”

Angeles turned and began leading the way to Tony’s shop. Whether they followed or not was no longer a concern, she was going to see her oldest friend and talk for a moment with Lizo. If they chose to follow, she would give them both tea so that their nerves could cool.

Angeal...

Jerric didn't understand why Angeal kept being brought into the conversation. The shock of everything had still not quite worn off, but he forced himself up. As Angeles began to walk away, leading the way, Jerric glanced at Ria. If she followed Angeles, he would too. If not, he would stay right where he was. The confusion and strife tore him. But he still wanted to help Ria. He still blamed himself for the incident with the mako, and with what had just happened... He felt even more crushed under the weight of his guilt.

Looking to the sky, which was now a healthy blue again, a sense of peace overtook Jerric. He temporarily forgot what tormented him; lost in the sky that had not been so beautiful for what had felt like such an eternity while he was in SOLDIER. He would still have to make the decision, but he knew then that it would be easier to make.

Plus... He knew he would want to ask them both more than a few questions...

Ria's eyes widened as Angeles shook her and she found herself unable to look away from the womans gaze even without the hand on her chin.AS she was released Ria looked towards the ground to hide the new wave of tears that slid down her cheeks. She tried to go back to where she'd just been, back to being numb. But she couldn't. After Angeles had told her not to she found herself unable to remember how she'd manged to feel numb in the first place. Without knowing it Angeles had denied her one of the few freedoms she'd had. She almost broke down right there and didn't get back up.

She was still afrid despite Angeles telling her not to be. She couldn't not be afraid. How was she supposed to be? All her life people had done nothing but try to kill her, even after she escaped the lab in Midgar.Fear was a constant companion in her life,Her only CONSTANT companion. The idea of losing it scared her in itself. Despite her mixed emotions towards Angeles she blinked as she realized she was scampering after the woman. For some reason it terrified her to think of letting the woman leave now. Why was she so desperate? She'd never reacted to anything else this way. Even at Jessie's house the only time someone could touch her without making her flinch away was when she was deeply unconscious.

She was still worried about how Jerric felt but she knew vaguely he was going to, or at least he had said he was going. She slowed down and her face calmed a bit as she started walking next to Angeles. She still didn't look her in the face but the tears stopped at least. She still couldn't force herself back into her stupor but the confusion she was feeling dulled her senses anyway and she didn't really take notice of her surroundings as she stayed close to Angeles's side,She was still looking down at the ground and her face still looked confused as they passed through the strange town. Well, strange for her.....

Angeles opened the door to Tony’s shop and he looked up at her. The teacup he was washing fell out of his hands and cracked into the sink and Angeles turned her eyes onto the ground, running a hand through her hair. There were a few people in the shop who looked at her with distaste but Tony walked around the bar and began to inspect her for any wounds. He touched the scars that were visible on her chest knowing that they had not been there before even though they looked old.

“I’m, fine Tony,” she said and the man looked up at her, “just a lot has happened in a short time,” Tony nodded in understanding and walked her over to the bar where he sat her down and began to make some tea, “I have a couple others with me, would you mind making three cups?”

Tony did not respond save to shake his head and picked up three more cups. It was probably bad for Tony’s business for her being there and him being so friendly with her, in fact several people were already getting up and leaving, and she turned as Ria came in and she motioned for the girl to sit on the stool next to her and looked at the door waiting for Jerric.

Jerric followed through Kalm to a nice little tea shop. Angeles and Ria were within already, though he was lagging behind. A few people, he noticed, were standing up and leaving as they looked at Angeles. When they see me come in, more will probably leave. He walked in slowly. He had been here once before, but only for about an hour with his aunt. The tea here was wonderful, better than most of the imported teas in Midgar.

Watching the two, he took a seat to the left of Angeles. He wasn't sitting next to Ria, which was odd, but for some reason he felt that it would be better if he was not next to Ria. Perhaps he felt that she needed a little bit of time without him figuratively hovering over her constantly.

As the tea was brought out, he hadn't said a word. He drank his tea silently, awaiting to be addressed. He had many questions to ask, but he didn't want to rush it. The tea that he was drinking smelled strongly of spice. It was Jerric's favorite. He smiled and stirred the steaming tea, remembering the past.

Ria looked around the Tea shop unnerved by the sudden calm that Angeles and Jerric seemed to have at the moment. Her won mind was full of unfamiliar emotions and her thoughts seemed to be colliding, getting nowhere. She sat down next to Angeles and blinked as Jerric sat on the stool on Angeles's opposite side. Her suspicions returned again but she really didn't understand enough of what was going on in her head to understand them. Why was he avoiding her? Was he working for Shin-Ra still? Or was he just sickened by the final realization that she wasn't human. Either way it made her feel a sudden wave of depression.

She wanted so desperately to return to the dark emptiness of her mind, but she still couldn't. Angeles had told her not to.Her spirits fell further when people started to leave. Was it there fault they had been made into something that wasn't human........?......Did not being human make them monsters?.....or was it the people who were the monsters to start? She still couldn't help the fear though. Now she couldn't even hide it. Angeles's appearance made her consider all of the thoughts she didn't want to.......what would those thoughts lead to?Even that she didn't want to think about. She was so tired......... She blinked and realized Tony had given her a cup of tea.

She lifted it slowly and sipped it. t was great and it even cheered her up a little, or at least eased some tension......in fact, it made her even sleepier. She set the cup back in front of her before she dropped it and put and arm on the table to keep herself upright at the sudden wave of fatigue. She couldn't sleep. Not yet. There were things she had to know. She looked at Angeles her emotions once again confusing her as she felt a sense of slight well being mixed in with the confusion and fear. Why was that there? However rather than that she asked something very different " Who Are you?" She said her voice wary.

“My name is Angeles,” replied the ex-turk, looking down at the young girl. She seemed to be feeling better, albeit very tired, and she hoped that the Soldier had some place for her to stay; as long as it wasn’t Hojo’s lab Angeles cared little where that place would be. She looked into her own cup of tea and saw the reflection of her eyes within the liquid before taking a sip of the warmth.

She caught the Soldier in the corner of her eye then turned to look at him, “and you,” she said, setting her tea down, “what about you, you look like someone with a lot on his mind. Care to share with the three of us here?”

Angeles did a small sweep of her head to indicate that everyone within the shop was gone except for them three and Tony. Angeles drank from her cup again, tilting her head so that her elegant neck was clearly visible, finishing the last drop of tea and setting the cup down with a sigh. Tony came to take the cup and refill it and Angeles laced her fingers together and against turned her attention to the Soldier, smiling benignly, but there was warning in her eyes.

Tony came with a new cup of tea and Anegles took it and drank it in one gulp. Her throat burned but she ignored it and handed the cup back to Tony as she slid off her stool, "thank you Tony," she said and looked at the Soldier, "the best policy is honesty," said Angeles, turning to leave but looking back at the young man, "remember that Soldier."

Angeles said nothing more and walked out of the tea shop, waving a farewell to Tony and glancing at the girl before the door shut and hid her from view.
